The Twilight Saga Gifts

November, 2008. In the weeks before Twilight came out in theaters, I was scrambling to read all four novels (first time through). I refused to see the movie until I had finished the series, but yet wanted to see the movie opening night, so I was reading day and night.
I took the books with me everywhere. Family get-togethers, restaurants, car trips, movie theaters, grocery shopping...you name it, and a Stephanie Meyer book was right there with me, safe in my purse. In the week and a half that it took me to read the entire series, I procrastinated on all housework, rarely cooked dinner for my husband and myself, and basically stayed in my PJs 24/7, too busy reading to do anything else. I was addicted. The Twilight Saga was like my own personal brand of heroin (what? I had to!).
With my life revolving around this series, it was no surprise that I soon started dreaming about Twilight. Right around the chapter in Eclipse when Jacob, Bella, and Edward are in the tent, and things start to heat up between Bella and Jake (ha! get it?), I finally put the book down and crawled into bed, visions of werewolves and vampires dancing in my head.
The next morning, my husband awoke and got ready for work, and then leaned down to kiss me goodbye.
"No, wait," I supposedly mumbled in my sleep.
"What's up?" my husband, Mike, whispered.
"You...you have to do that thing...the thing that turns me into a vampire," was my unconscious response.
Mike chuckled, realizing that I was dreaming, most likely about Edward, and kissed my forehead. "Goodbye, Twilight fanatic!"
A few minutes later, I woke up, only vaguely remembering this conversation, and hoping like no other that I had dreamed it. No such luck...I was officially obsessed with Twilight, and my husband forevermore had an embarrassing story to tell our family and friends.
