About us
TwitJobs was created and founded by social media consultant, Jason Barrett. From our London base we post jobs across multiple social networks - giving job and career advice to 10,000's of job seekers using facebook, twitter, bebo, linkedin, plurk, mashable, tumblr and friendfeed.
By providing resources, encouraging sharing and communicating with all of our friends/followers - this allows us to actively communicate with our audience, understanding the jobs they are looking for, and being able to provide jobs to 10,000's instantly.
From March to September 2009 TwitJobs accumulated over 50,000 followers in just 6 months on Twitter alone, and another 3000 through our other social networks (including 800+ friendfeed, 900+ facebook and 500+ on linkedin).
In this 6 month period we were also featured in the financial times, the guardian, sky news and business week, as well as numerous other online tech blogs and futureology visionarys.
As well as the popularity of our site we have also been able to give people advertising on TwitJobs some fantastic quality candidates and opportunities to reach a previously unreachable audience.
Millions of people in the UK access social networks every single day. Although brands do find innovative ways to engage with people using social media, people do love to share information. Its a natural human instinct. The problem has been with technology.
If you see a job advertised on any other site, would you then email that particular job to 100 of your friends? Probably not. Why? well for a number of reasons, email is a very personal, one to one communication medium, sending material via this method in bulk to close friends can often just look like spam and immediately turn you off reading it. With social networks such as facebook, twitter and friendfeed, sharing has become an integral part of its makeup. The ease of sharing (or Re-Tweeting) content across these mediums makes it easy and quick for 1,000's of people to spread the news on the latest new job that has been added to our site.
Jobs posted on TwitJobs usually receive almost instant activity. Some links we post can achieve between 400-1600 clicks in the first 5-8 minutes of a new post going live.
Once posted, our jobs are then distributed across our network and are then shared, and shared again through the top social networks.
Our jobs are normally posted within minutes of receiving them, moments later employers can expect applications from some of the best talent online.
Employers such as BSM, Nickelodeon and Ted Baker are some of the forward thinking businesses that have been advertising key positions across our network, tapping into a brand new pool of talent.
