- I was at work at a medical facility design for Pediatric infants...I recall seeing how bitterly cold the day was. The historical significance warmed thousands of the guest that had traveled from across the country to be a witness to such an event as the swearing in of America's first African-American President.

- For not knowing I was going to be there only 2 days prior, I had pretty good tickets that came from a family member that didn't want to be in the cold. It was about 10 degrees that day in DC, which felt like the coldest day of that winter, but my heart was warmed by the energy of the crowd singing we shall over come. No one complained of the cold once we were inside the gates, with our hearts and minds now fully recognizing what history we were about to witness and be present for. A day in history that we can say, "I WAS THERE!"

- I was actually working at our local election board. Since we are isolated from the outside world during the ballot processing, I was one of the last people to learn how the election came out.

- Was standing at the American Indian Museum in the cold weather. Chilled but delighted.
