You'll want to know straight off if you can do the steps below with a free US Free Ads account. The answer is yes and no. Yes, you will be able to do this if you are confident that you can optimize your ads with the right amount of keywords. No, if you think that you need a little more help in this department.

Step One

Although I am constantly drumming it into you that without good keyword and niche research you are doomed to fail, there are a few other steps to a successful US Free Ads ad that you need to take into account.

The first step though is the keyword research. For the sake of this lens I am going to assume that you have already found your niche and are now at the stage of finding a great keyword phrase. So you have drilled down and found a great keyword phrase, we are going to use a fictitious one here, how to make authentic German sausages. Let's get started ....

Step Two

I'll also assume from this point that you have taken my advice and signed up for a USFreeAds Premier Account and taken the free trial membership that they offer.

Once you have taken the free trial offer you will be able to access the html ads and place links in your ad. This in itself is the basis of this tutorial so I strongly advise that you jump straight in and don't spend days trying to optimize your ads with keywords to the 'just right' level that you would need to be successful with a free US Free Ads account.

Head over and sign in to your USFREEADS account and click on the link to 'advertise'. Remember that you don't need to wait for approval of your ad and you can now place links in it with a premier account.

The Ad Title - This is probably the most important step once you have your keyword research done. Play around with this and work it until you are completely happy. You need to have a title that instantly draws peoples attention and makes them want to read more.

You need to make an irresistible offer in the title that almost guarantees the person will want to read more. Using certain words in the title will have this effect - secrets, killer techniques, warning, surefire etc.

Asking questions in a title is also another great way to make people want to read more. For example ....

Do You Make These Mistakes When Making Authentic German Sausages?

These titles are simple, to the point, intriguing and also crucially, they contain the keyword 'authentic German sausages' in them.

Step Three

The Description - Again this is where practise will come into play. I know that I can go in and create a description (my ad content) within 10 minutes. It may take you a little longer until you are familiar with the format and practise doing this.

I tend to aim for around half a page of text in my ads. More than that and people will get bored, less than this and there is not enough information. You should also remember that you are writing an ad and not an article.

Since I first started to list again using USFREEADS, I now design my ads in an html editor and then just cut and paste the html code into my US Free Ads account when I am prompted to do so. This means that I can mess around with the ad until I am happy with it. You can of course practise doing this before you place your first ad.

When I start to write my ad, I always make sure that the opening text has my keyword phrase in it again. I bold this text and increase the size - (for those who know about html I use the H1 tags). I will then try and create a relationship with the reader in the opening paragraph by connecting with their problem. Are they ruining their Authentic German Sausages? I confirm to them that they are not alone in this and thousands of other people do the same.

The next paragraph will offer them some quick tip that I will have researched. This lets them know that I am not trying to sell them anything straight off but more importantly, it let's the reader know that I know what I am talking about.

Don't start getting side tracked here with points and off subject fluff - in other words, don't waffle on. Keep it short and simple.

You should also keep the links that you place in the text to a minimum, placing too many links will not do your ad any good for search engine rankings. It's generally at this point that I will place my first link to my site within the text. So it will look like this:

Blah blah blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah blah blah so if you want to make some really genuine authentic German sausages, you can see how I make the best authentic German sausages. Blah blah blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah blah blah Blah blah blah blah blah blah.

I will also place a picture in the ad too. I aim to use at least one picture as this helps the reader to visualize what they are wanting to purchase. If you can't get a picture from a merchant then you can use a site that will let you use their pictures free of charge like www.freephoto.com or similar.

You should then start to encourage people to visit your lens by placing links in the text again that will this time be speaking about the BENEFITS of the product you are promoting.

At the very end you should place another link to your site with another compelling reason for the reader to click through, just like you did with your title. I always place the keyword phrase that I am targeting in the ad around five times. At the end I bold the keyword phrase and leave this as the last thing that I write, just like you can see below....
