Taking the Steps for a U.S Citizen Application
Naturalization is a key feature in the Constitution of the United States of America and this is perhaps why people flock to America to begin their new life.If you are one of these, there is a lot of paper work to get through, but this is all straight forward and quite simple as you will find out in this article.
When applying to become a U.S citizen the first thing that you must complete before the long process can begin is actually living in the U.S.
This sounds painfully obvious I know, but seriously, it is vital. You have to have lived on American soil for a minimum of five years and of those years, six months must have been spent on U.S soil.
This is to prove that you are committed to becoming a U.S citizen and that if you can't do this, you will get no further in the process.
he next step is just as simple.
You need to obtain a form from the USCIS.
These are relatively easy to get hold of, you either collect one directly from the USCIS or you can download one from their website.
This form must be filled in accurately and most importantly truthfully!
If you are found to be lying on this form you will have your application rejected on the spot, no questions asked, it's that serious.

Please take a minute to read more about this here, I think you will find it very useful:

Then you Take the Citizenship Test:
A little bit of preparation makes this much easier.
After you have filled this form in and submitted it you have to get your fingerprints taken and stored on the federal system.Although this may seem slightly invasive, remember you want to become a citizen of this country.
Once all of this is completed, the tests begin.
This is where a lot of people feel they will fail, but again it is all very simple. You have to be able to read and write English at an elementary level.
However, if you are over 55 or have lived in the United States for twenty years or more, then this may be overlooked.
This is where you will be tested on your knowledge of the history of America and its history as well as your understanding of the US Government.
Don't panic over this, these are things that most people pick whilst living in the United States. You will also be asked about your background and whether you will pledge allegiance to the U.S.
All basic stuff. After all of this there are three possible outcomes.
One, you are now allowed to pledge allegiance to the flag and you are now a U.S citizen.
Two, your status is put on hold.
This could be because there may be a problem with your application or your background check.
Three, your application could be denied.
This could be because you haven't resided in on U.S ground for long enough or more problematic is that you may have lied on your application.

Regardless on your political view, that government were not yours, because until you are a member of the United States of America, you are unable to vote.

Your Employment Opportunities will Increase.
Benefits include being able to take on Federal jobs as a citizen.
You will be able to be employed in federal agencies; these jobs are secure and highly respected.A great way to show your loyalty to the flag, but before your application is processed; these jobs are out of your reach.
Your family will be priority cases for immigration to the United States, meaning that you can provide security and a rosy future, not just for yourself, but for your entire family unit.
These are just a few reasons why becoming a citizen of the United States is beneficial for you. There are many more besides, and I am sure that you have dozens of your own personal reasons to contribute.

How to Apply to Become a US Citizen
Once you have decided to become a citizen of the "Land of Opportunities" then I bet you are wondering how to go about it.I am sure you know that there is paper work and forms to complete and I know that you will have heard about the dreaded citizen test. But how do you start the ball rolling?
The easiest way is to hire an immigration lawyer who will happily deal with all the laborious forms and litigations that you will have to go through and offer you advise on sitting the exam.
Immigration lawyers however are extremely expensive and if you are in the minority who can afford this luxury then this is your answer.
Most of us however do not have spare cash lying around waiting to be devoured by lawyers. In which case the process is going to be slightly more difficult for you.
Don't get me wrong, it is exactly the same process, you just won't have someone checking your forms and getting you onto the next step, it will all be on you. But I promise, it is by no means impossible.
Applying to become a US citizen is straight forward and relatively user friendly. First of all you need to have lived on US soil for a minimum of five years, each of these years spending at least six months in the country.
Without having done this you will not be able to apply to become a legal immigrant.
The next step:
The next step is to fill in the citizen application form. This form you can collect from the USCIS or download and is generally straight forward to fill in.
You must be one hundred percent truthful within this form however as any lies can and will be discovered prolonging the process or even halting it all together.
The final step is the Citizen Test. This is the most feared element, but even if you are one of the few who can afford an immigration lawyer, when it comes to this test, you're on your own.
The good thing about it however is that the questions are straight forward and there are sample questions available on the internet and lots of guides on how to pass it out there to get you through it.
And that's it, simple huh? I know it seems daunting, but when you break it down it really isn't that bad at all.
