My name is Lalania Simone. I am an Urban Soul Warrior, which just a funky way to say, I am a person on a spiritual path living in the urban jungle. City life can be hectic, and it often seems there is barely a moment to nuture ourselves. It is so important to find those precious moments, and to give love and attention to ourselves. Then we can go out into the world, and be even more effective.

Being an artist, designer, author, and a mami, my life is filled to full. When I do have time to myself, I make an effort do something creative, to feed my soul. Meditation is also a big part of my life. Sometimes I will find myself doing it every day, and other times I will realize it has been weeks since I have turned my attention inward. But even as it comes and goes, I know that it has had a powerful impact on my life.

This lens is dedicated to my book, Urban Soul Warrior, I will add new stuff as often as I can. I will post updates for my book tour, as well as other insights, and pages from the book itself. The next leg of my tour is Los Angeles and the Bay Area, more to come. Be light Earth Family!

SOUL WARRIOR sisters and brothers, what does it mean to have soul? In urban terms it means to have flavor (pronounced flay-va), a certain funkiness whose origins are perceived to come from a deeper kind of cool. We have all heard of soul music, or soul-food. These terms represent a feeling of depth in relation to
what they are describing.

We all have soul. Some of us are more aware of it than others. A soul is the self-aware essence unique to each living being. It is an individualized expression of the Universal Presence, of life itself, constantly unfolding to reveal more of the infinite. Or another way to put it: a soul is life experiencing itself through one of billions
of expressions.

More and more people are connecting with themselves and the universe at the level of the soul. Unsatisfied with the results they are getting by dealing primarily with the material world, they are journeying within.How do we get in? What is in there, anyway? Ithas been said that we are not in the world, the world is in us.
Discovering the meaning of this is a spiritual journey. Spirituality is the personal relationship with the universal spirit that resides within all life. Through that relationship we can experience an ever-expanding capacity for love and an infinite unfolding of consciousness.
