Online cycle trader also has a plethora of options, so if you can google then you can find yourself a great used go cart for dirt cheap and have a great weekend with the family. The best thing about this is that you are away from the city life, or even the suburbs where you have access to the internet and telephones. Just make sure that you get everyone to leave their cell phones behind and only take one cell phone in case of emergencies.

Start off by looking at your local classifieds or maybe a local yard sale. Yard sales are always a great place to find karts. Flea markets are another excellent place to find kart parts and accessories not to mention go-karts themselves. I personally love Craigslist but my local newspaper always gives me great places to find local garage and yard sales.

Get creative and put an ad in your local paper saying what you are looking for. Someone who may not be looking to sell might see your post and think hmmm I prob need to get rid of this kart. This may turn into you buying a good kart at a great price.

1. Always look local first instead of trying to find something out of town where you have to drive a ways. Time wasted is money wasted.

2. Ask a lot of questions such as: why are you selling? has it ever been rolled or wrecked? Are you the first owner?
These things will not only give you insight into what your seller is willing to reveal but it will build a relationship and hopefully an honest one.

3. Ask to test drive the kart before you buy. If the seller will not let you then move on to another seller.

4. Take a mechanic with you to look the kart over if you are not qualified. A few things you want to look for is rust on the frame. A gas smell in the oil reservoir. Tight steering and brakes working properly. These things will tell you if the kart has a leak, has been well cared for and if it is in good working condition.
