This is the first book in the series. We have Elena the queen bee of the school who just broke up with her boyfriend Matt. She's back to school and is ready to start anew. Her friend Caroline is now her ex friend who wants to take over the "throne".

Stefan Salvatore is the new guy at school who Elena and Caroline want. Elena can't understand why Stefan gives her the cold shoulder and is more interested in Caroline. This sends Elena down a dangerous path when she gets in with the wrong crowd and gets attacked at the cemetery. Stefan comes to her rescue and she finally gets to know him.

Everything seems to fall into place for her and Stefan until she finds out that Stefan is actually a vampire. Things get even more complicated when a sexy dark haired stranger appears and seems to want Elena for himself. Can she stay true to Stefan or will Damon have with way with her soul?

The Struggle is the third book in the Vampire Diaries series. Stefan has disappeared and Elena must find him before it's too late. Bonnie is the key to his rescue. Her psychic visions leads them to him. Stefan must feed in order to survive. Will he give in to Elena and drink from her?

Damon is more determined to have Elena. He finds a way to force her into a blood exchange with him.

Elena is forced off the bridge by an angry force. Will she survive the accident? Who is it that wants her dead and why?

The Fury is the third and thought to be last novel in the Vampire Diaries. It was once a trilogy and now it's a series.

In The Fury Elena wakes up after Stefan pulls her from the icy wreckage. She follows her instincts and finds the brothers locked in battle. Stefan wants Damon to pay for killing Elena. His rage blinds him to her presence. Elena comes to the rescue of one of the brothers. Who will she choose?

After Elena recovers from the accident she must find out who caused it. The other power has vengeance in it's heart. The town of Fell's Church will have to fight for survival. Elena, Stefan and Damon will have to work together to save everyone and themselves. Will they make it or will a life be lost in the battle?

Dark Reunion is the fourth book in the series.

The people of Fell's Church have chosen not to accept what has happened to them. Things have gone back to normal and life goes on for them. A few people still remember the tragic end.
