Vanessa made her feature film debut in Thirteen, which starred Holly Hunter and Evan Rachel Wood. She was also a co-star in the adventure film Thunderbirds. More recently, Vanessa starred as Gabriella Montez in the hit Disney Channel TV movie High School Musical and surprised many by appearing on the Billboard Hot 100 with the soundtrack for the movie.
Vanessa has moved all along the west coast from Oregon to Southern California. Her mother is of Filipino, Chinese and Latina descent and her father is a mix of Irish and Native Indian. By her own admission, Vanessa is a shop-aholic, and she enjoys spending time with friends, singing and dancing, and going to the movies. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her parents, and 9 year old sister Stella.

Coming immediately off the monstrous success of High School Musical 2, Ms. Hudgens was hit with an unfortunate photo scandal when a pictureof the 18-year old actress stark naked was released onto the internet. There has been a lot of debate, about what this whole scandal means and how it will affect the young actress's career.
