Ventura or San Buena Ventura is a beautiful little (at least it feels that way) town cradled between the Los Padres National Forest and the Pacific Ocean. Whatever you enjoy you will find here. Whether it is hiking, biking, surfing or just walking along the beach, you will find a wonderful opportunity here is Ventura.

We took a short day trip to Ventura Beach. But it turned into a very long day. I5 was closed at hwy 126 and it was bumper to bumper for hours. We finally made it though.

A Special Place to Be
Somewhere between Los Angeles county and Santa Barbara county there lies Ventura County. It is a small county that resembles a squished up Ohio. Ventura County is what people think of when they think of California. Acres and acres of avocado and orange trees and many other types of fruit and vegetables. Farm stands line the highway. It is hard not to bring home 30 pounds of oranges when you travel very far away. The air is free and clean and you can smell the scent of the sea in the air. Home to Perry Mason

- We lived in the southern end of Ventura County in Newbury Park for 15 years and we own property in Ventura on Main St., not far from the beach. I used to love to shop the thrift and consignment shops back in the 1970's and 1980's, but last time I went back there, the prices had gone way up in the thrift stores. I enjoy the downtown area. It's a fun place to just walk around. There are a lot of nice parks in Ventura, too.
