To Finish Up

From the lens My Vet Tech Training.

Okay, I made this lens because it was suggested that I do so. I actually enjoyed making it though. I hadn't really thought about the actual training involved since I graduated. Let me know if you enjoyed this.

Interesting lens. When I was training for becoming a vet tech I had dissection class just before lunch. Not sure if that was on purpose but the result was just about nothing grosses me out. :) Top marks.

A lot of Vet Techs are now pursuing careers in Wildlife Rehabilitation here in Canada.
    Kind of "branching out".

I was a veterinary technician and a professional groomer in a small animal vet hospital for twelve years, with mostly cats and dogs. Back when I first started, we were not required to go to school or get any special training for it. On the job experience was good enough then. But in the last few years that I worked there, the new vet techs and the groomers were required to go to school for both jobs. I have been in a different career for the past three years. I don't work with animals anymore, but people bring their dogs to my workplace.

As an animal lover, I thank you on behalf of the animals you care for. Wonderful.

Your lens is amazing! For people who adore their pets, vet technicians are really important people. They have often eased my nervousness about my sick kitties! I also think you are so lucky to get to work with all kinds of animals every day. I am sure it never gets boring! I am definitely favoriting your lens, and it deserves 5 stars!

Also, thanks for lensrolling my page about my kitties! http://www.squidoo.com/loveforpets

I'll also show this lens to my granddaughter! She also wants to be a vet, but a vet tech might interest her as well. You and she have a lot in common, but she just turned 11! Great lens. Thanks for the info.

I'm glad you made a lens for this, very informative, and no, I hadn't heard of a Vet Tech. What a wonderful profession. Great lens! - Kathy
  • Ramkitten Mar 16, 2009 @ 3:26 pm | delete
A wonderful career choice, in my opinion. At least from the point of view of someone who loves my dog more than anything and cares who handles her at the vet's office. I've met some wonderful vet tech's, but I really had no idea what kind of training they had to go through. Very informative lens. Good job!
  • OhMe Mar 16, 2009 @ 2:01 pm | delete
I think it is a great career choice and wish you much success.
