Posters, particularly in Europe and America, provided a means by which one could achieve mass communication in an attractive and economical format. Think of the sidewalks of Paris in the late 1800's - plastered with posters. Milan and Berlin streets were awash with poster announcements and advertisements. The Belle Epoque era in France during the 1890's, produced thousands of posters as well brought to light artists such as Toulouse-Lautrec.Poster exhibitions became commonplace, with the publics insatiable appetite for this unique and evocative art form.
