Disney Vinylmation Collectible Figures
Vinylmation was introduced to Disney enthusiasts in December 2008. A handful of artists created designs for these new toys. The first line was called the Park 1 Series and featured 12 different 3" vinyl designs and 6 different 9" vinyl designs.
In each series Disney reveals all but one mystery design called a "chaser". The chaser is the rarest and most sought after piece in the series. When you buy a 3" figure you don't know which design you'll get until you open the package. With the 9" figures, you do know ahead of time what's in the box.

Vinylmation Inspiration

Kidrobot, which has been around since 2002, is the world's premier designer and retailer of limited edition art toys (according to their About Us page). Everything about Vinylmation seems to have stemmed from their innovative work. The vinyl collectibles are designed by various artists, available in a limited quantity, wrapped in foil and packaged in a 'blind box' along with a card. The box displays most of the figures in a collection with a few surprise 'chase' designs that aren't revealed. Kidrobot even offers blank figures for DIYers.
All of this sounds familiar right? And with prices that get up into the $1000s there must already be a demand for this style of collectible. After seeing people walk out of the D23 Expo with hundreds of dollars worth of Vinylmation packages I think Disney was right to get in on this venture.

- M told I have a chaser from the park tin series. Now im wondering if I have other chasers and am not aware of it. Where can I get a pictorial list of all chasers? Were just casual collectors?

- very nice lens. I have one on Disney Pins but this is the newest portion of my son & I's Disney collection. he's got the entire Villains collection and we are headed to WDW soon and hope to trade for some other cool park related ones.
