I never knew Steve very well when we went to high school together. I guess we were both shy and probably never talked to eachother so it was a surprise to me when I heard that he had joined the Peace Corps. When he came back to Vermont he took that knowledge and turned it into a thriving organic farm and farm stand.
When you are traveling up route 30 on your way to the Wardsboro Street Fair, be sure to stop at the Dutton Berry Stand in Newfane. You will find delicious organic fruits and vegetables grown at the Dutton farms and fresh baked pies made from those very same berries.
Travel up Route 30 a little ways further and you will see the Dutton pick-your- own strawberry fields where volunteers pick strawberries for the famous Wardsboro Strawberry Shortcake and Strawberry Rhubarb pies. If you arrive a couple of days before the 4th of July you are invited to help with the picking.

Going to Vermont
Road Trip to Vermont
Vermont is where my family has lived for 7 generations so when I think of things that I will take with me I include all the mementos that we have collected throughout the year in order to gather them together with the memories passed down from all those past generations.
In a true Vermont packrat tradition you can take everything with you if you have enough car racks and luggage carriers. Vermont is a wonderful place to take a bike ride so be sure to bring your bikes.

- I've been to Vermont and New Hampshire all but once when I was about 13. It was a vacation in which we drove from Ohio to Maine and froze our behinds in the ocean. Vermont is such a beautiful place to visit -- I could live there. PS you may want to check your "5 things you shouldn't miss when you Visit Vermont!" My count was 7. ;)
