V-day and Weekend Special
Well this weekend was not a huge weekend for Seattle Sports. However, if I don't mention the fact that former WA husky Nate Robinson won the 2009 NBA Dunk Contest this weekend then I wouldn't be doing my job as a WA Sports writer.
He won it in theatrics just like most of the winners of the past few years. Dwight Howard had phone booth in which he changed into a superman cape and came out and dunked on a 12-foot hoop. Which was pretty impressive. That is when Nate Robinson disappeared and came out wearing all green and holding a green ball. (which was a representation of Kryponite, Superman's weakness) and this is when it got crazy because Nate Robinson placed Dwight in front of the hoop and JUMPED HIM to dunk the ball! Remember Dwight Howard is 6'10" tall and Nate Robinson is 5'9"!
So for this Valentines Day remember that no matter how tall you are if you can dunk over Dwight Howard you can impress the ladies.

To kick things off I am going to let you know that I know most people do not want to read long drawn out stories and writing. Therefore I am going to keep most of my posts to the point but with lots of information. As I figure out Squidoo things will change and this lens will continually look better and provide even better information.
Last Night I was able to catch two stunning basketball games, the first was the Illini somehow coming back from at one point was a 14 point deficit to win the game by one with 2.9 seconds left. Crazy! But that's not Washington sports but I mention that because I was waiting for the Zags game to come on. And if that doesn't get you excited about March Madness than I don't know what does.
Then the next game was just as nuts however, it was way more ping-pong in nature as Saint Mary's and Gonzaga battled it out for the win. At one point I was very nervous when with about 6 seconds left Saint Mary's had the ball and was only down by only one point. However on the in-bound pass somehow Saint Mary's couldn't get a grip on the ball and lost it out of bounds to give the ball back to the Zags. And the Zags were able to pull out a win by 2 thanks to a free-throw by Pargo.
UW also beat Oregon State by 19. (79-60) A much less frightening game for UW fans. Tell me what you thought of the games and any other comments you have below.
In the next couple of days I will be talking about who I think the Seahawks should take in the draft. What I think about the EWU punishment, the Griffey deal, and so, so much more. So stay tuned and keep on reading!

Sound off!
I want to hear what you think about Ken Griffey Junior coming back to his roots in the MLB. I honestly, am a little torn both ways. On one side of the fence I feel that Junior will give the attendance a boost and will get fans coming back to Safeco again. However, the other side of me tells me that it will just never be quite the same and we, as Seattle fans, may walk away dissappointed.
Do you think Griffey should come back to the Mariners?
