That is your occupation? Do you by chance use a computer at all? Ha, that's a good one, I know. You more than likely use a computer on a regular basis. It's nothing to be ashamed of. With a little bit of homework you'll know that Time Warner Internet offers specific packages to their customers. At this time, I have Time Warner Internet, cable television, and phone service. It's a package deal if you will. I like this because it means one convenient monthly payment. Now, if you already have Time Warner Internet, then you probably understand its advantages. Or the individuals who have not joined Time Warner Internet, I'll give you the scoop. I purchased the Roadrunner service in the past. Way back when it all started. Wow, was it an upgrade from dial-up. It's kind of the difference between a Volkswagen beetle and a Porsche 911 turbo. I think you get my point.
I have to admit that I enjoyed the service from day one. Roadrunner actually offered high-quality Internet. Years later I moved and decided to try the local Internet provider. I realized it was a mistake when I got my first bill. It turned out to be a tad pricier than they had originally claimed. Making things worse, my Internet service would randomly throw me off line, all of course at the worst possible time. This got rather irksome to say the least. I had to go back to reliable Time Warner Internet.

Apple in recent days has attempted to stake a claim on the movie download market by striking a deal with Disney Studios to deliver movie down loads. Earlier this year Warner Brothers announced an agreement with the software firm Bit torrent to enable movie downloads to your computer. Bit torrent's software application has long been the choice of peer to peer file sharing pirates because it allows fast downloads of large files and uses very little bandwidth.
Last week Apple together with Disney studios jumped into the movie down load market and offered two key features to it's movie download service. First it uses the ipod as the device for downloading. Second, knowing that the ultimate viewing choice for movies for the public will be the television or home theatre. Apple indicates it will introduce a set top box to work with the TV thus bridging the gap between internet delivery and end user's desired viewing choice.
This puts Apple in a position to capture a middleman role and to make money on a device to ease the process between the down load and final choice of viewing medium. But Bit Torrent is already working with Warner Brothers and will probably leap frog Apple's device sooner or later by allowing direct downloads to your TV receiver, fast, high quality and immediately playable using a high speed cable line to do it. And to go with this instant down load will be the option to burn to a DVD or store the movie on the hard drive of your tivo box or similar device.
George Lucas in an interview with CNBC earlier this year and again last week stated that the movie companies and Hollywood would have to adapt sooner or later to the new digital age, of production and distribution. When asked about file sharing and bit torrent specifically Lucas stated that it would be the future of Hollywood and that Steve Jobs and others had already grasped that concept.
The major retailers of DVDs, such as Walmart and Target have communicated to the Hollywood studios that they will not sit still for downloads that would be cheaper than the DVDs they sell. Apple has been responsive and is said to be discussing an agreement on the pricing of down loads from it's itunes site.
As usual the big players are attempting to control how, where and at what price the next generation of movies will be delivered to the public. All the major players want to control the delivery process but the time for that has passed. George Lucas himself said that with web sites like Youtube, film makers can show case their talent and deliver it to the public very cheaply, they don't need a Hollywood Studio.
Using the internet as a proving ground for content creation and distribution has finally come of age now that high speed internet access is so wide spread. So get ready Hollywood change is coming like it or not

The answer to that is yes and no. Movie downloads are available for rental and for purchase, depending on the movie and the site from which it is downloaded. Some movie downloads are outright purchases, which means you can watch them as many times as you want, when you want. Some movie downloads are rentals that have a sunset on when they can be watched. This means the programming will now allow viewing after a set date, time or number of viewings. Most movie downloads, however, do contain programming that discourages piracy.
Can movie downloads be backed up?
The answer to that is also yes and no. Some movie studios allow the backing up of movie purchases onto DVD, but include programming that won't enable the playing on regular DVD players. Others don't allow backing up at all, but movie download sites will "hold the purchase" so it can be redownloaded if a hard drive crash occurs.
Can movie downloads only be watched on computers?
No. Depending on the company and/or studios involved, DVDs can be burned of the movies to allow playing in regular DVD players on television sets. Also, a simple wire connection from a television set to a computer or laptop will enable the viewing of a movie download on a regular screen. There are, however, some occasions where movie downloads must be watched on the machine they are downloaded to. It all depends on the movie download site and the movie in question.
Are movie downloads more expensive than DVDs?
No. Generally movie downloads are cheaper than buying a regular DVD. There's no packaging to pay for, so the cost is less for the studios and the movie download sites. That savings, in part, is passed on to the consumer. In most cases, consumers will find movie downloads are several dollars less than actual packaged DVDs, which is one of the reasons this format is really taking off. Plus, there aren't storage issues involves, such as the need for DVD towers to hold hundreds and hundreds of purchases.
How long does it take to download a movie?
A lot of that will depend on the file size, the movie download site and your Internet connection. Some movies will download within a matter of minutes by using streaming technology and buffering and others will take a bit of time. A full-length movie, after all, is a very large file!
The movie download format is still in its infancy with regulations and rules constantly changing, but consumers are more and more turning to this format for its ease and cost savings. With just about every major studio in the world taking part, the writing is on the wall that movie downloads are here and they're here to stay.
