Design through my eyes

This is not about cutting grass, or fertilizer (though some may say I spread some big-time fertilizer), or brown spots in the lawn.

Actually Landscape Design is a mis-understood profession, and I will try and help out as much as possibe explainig what actually occurs during desing, with info about LD elsewhere on the web.

Use the guestbook, or e-mail me with questions. Need a speaker? Lecturer? Seminar leader? Here I am.

LD the two themes

A design starts as a Geometric or Curvilinear theme-everything flows from there

Geometric themes are usually considered more formal; straight line, axis's, center focal points, symmetrical balance (usually) strong architecture.

Curvilinear is more naturalistic, and is what the typical American Landscape Design has become. Ususally wavy bed lines, collections of plants, curving walkways, informal ponds, etc.

Trade publications that I feel would be of interest, there is a wide variety here though all links will not be applicable to everyone.

Hi Rick,

You have great resource here in squidoo! I agree with you that Landscape Design is a missunderstood field. Actually it is more than people perception, more than just trees, shrubs, lawns or flower.
