Each of Wildlife Forever's Critter Books provides a wonderful carry everywhere guide profiling wildlife and bird species native to a particular state.

Each species profile contains a color photograph and information on habitat, home range, physical characteristics, plus feeding and reproductive behavior.

Did You Know . . .

One of the more fun parts of each critter's listing is the "Did You Know" area that presents a little know fact. Here are some examples:

The bobcat is named after its stubby "bobbed" tail.
The fisher is one of the few preditors of the porcupine.
A fox can leap 15 feet in a single bound.
A moose can store over 100 pounds of food in its stomach.
Muskrats can hold their breath for 15 minutes while underwater.
Ruby-throated hummingbirds can fly 60 miles per hour and can even fly backwards.
The bones of most birds are hollow to help with flight, but loons have solid bones to help them with underwater diving.

Partners Wanted For New State Critter Books

Wildlife Forever, Brooklyn Center, MN has an established partnership with Adventure Publications (AP) for the development of the Critters Pocket Guide Series. Wildlife Forever underwrites the cost of researching and writing new state guides while AP underwrites the costs of layout and design. As a result, local partners are able to obtain and distribute the high-quality youth pocket guides to local students in a very cost-effective manner. Prices range from $1 to $1.50. Quantity reprints of existing titles are also available with sponsorship opportunities on the cover.

    Nice job! Keep up the good work... If you wanted a suggestion,maybe talk about some of your favorite critters...be a little more specific. Critter is general, but I really like the lens and what you are trying to do.
