Moving from common to distinctive; upgrading your WordPress theme.
If you are using a free WordPress for your blog/website, you already know how powerful it is. But have you noticed your blog/website looks like the million other freebies out there?
When you are ready to take your WordPress to the next level of professionalism and customized look, the options are:
1. Hire someone
2. Do it yourself.
I don't know about you, but I don't have a lot of money to be spending $100 / hour for a web designer's time. As for doing it yourself, I'm good with word and excel, but programming?!?
Of course, there is WordPress Codex - THE source for coding, but where do you start? It can be very overwhelming.
That's when I found Brian Gardner, a premium WordPress designer and coder. What sold me on Brian, beyond his great customer service and just being genuinely nice, is his forum for his customers. Not only does he provide personal attention, but he has a wonderful team of moderators that are always available to answer questions. Questions ranging from customizing the website to search engine optimization. That type of support, spoon-fed, is priceless.
After being a customer of Brian's, I am now confident enough to use the Codex.

Update - Brian has just rolled out "skins" for forums. WOW! Now you can have a website/blog/forum with one seamless look.

When free WordPress themes are costly.
Why did I go looking for a premium WordPress theme when there are so many nice looking, free WordPress themes on the market? Because I started to notice some very odd things about some of them. For example, code that placed random advertising on my website. In addition, I read some horror stories out there that made me realize, I need to really know my source for my WordPress themes. Now I will only use premium WordPress themes where I know I can trust the designer or go straight to WordPress and download themes from them.
