Classic Comic Book WWII Flyer Tribute Cover Art Collectibles

Army Air Force, Navy Air Corps, & Marine Air Corps

Comic books played a major part in shaping the public's impression of both our troops and our enemies during World War II.
Among the classiest were these three beautiful covers for Contact Comics, an aviation-oriented title. Spectacular, intense, eye-catching color highlights these poster-style pieces of art.
Each one paid honor to the aviation division of one of the three armed forces branches. (The Air Force as a separate branch didn't come about until after WWII)
They have been digitally-restored and remastered on a line of kool kollectibles which would make perfect Flag Day, 4th of July, or Veteran's Day gifts for the WWII veteran in your life.
Choose from t-shirts, mugs, magnets, BBQ aprons, and many other goodies.

True! Don Winslow, clean-cut, all-American star of radio, movie serials, comic books & strips, and juvenile novels, was created to help Navy enlistments, which had reached an all-time low in 1934!
And it worked! Enlistments doubled before WWII began in 1941!
Now four of his iconic images are available as part of our retro-classic WWII line!
Perfect gifts for the nostalgic WWII veteran in your life!

Really! I kid you not!
He lasted only two issues in the 1960s, but what a wild, weird ride it was...

About BrittReid

When I'm not out fighting crime, I work in the publishing industry, writing and designing everything from magazines to trading cards to comic books!

I'm constantly coming up with lenses about subjects I'm into...scifi/fantasy, Sherlock Holmes, the Old West, etc. (see the "other lenses" list!)

At the same time, I'm creating and selling stuff based on these topics that I would buy if someone else offered it, but nobody else does (When was the last time you saw a Purple Claw or Rocket Kelly shirt?), so I have to do it myself!

If you've landed here, you probably have at least one interest in common with me. Cool. Hopefully, you'll have a couple of laughs, learn a bit of trivia, and see something you've never seen before. When you're done, leave a comment, or better yet, tell your friends and then buy a magnet or something. Rocket Kelly's feeling decidedly unloved!  ;-)
