The Wargaming World

Overview before getting into details

Remember to bookmark and maybe rank this page, thanks!

While Wargames always immerse players in military conflicts between two or more factions the context of a conflict is not always an historical one.

Wargames cover everything from spears and swords
battles to Napoleonic scenarios, from World War 2 to World War 3 simulations, from Fantasy settings like Lord of the Ring to more Sci-Fi ones like Warhammer 40K all the way to Space only battles like Babylon 5 and more.

As you can imagine there is plenty of opportunities for wargame players to customise their armies or fleets. Hobby players buy pieces of scenery from rocks to vegetation to bunkers to big buildings often in plain plastic color to then paint it to taste. The same is true for models of troops and vehicles. Modelling your own items or customising off the shelf items is integral part of the Wargame Hobby

All these scenery and army units come in scale and usually they go from 6-millimetres to 30-millimetres in size. These are the most common sizes:

Games, Miniatures and more

I have found the best prices for Wargame Miniatures , Buildings, Tools HERE (Or click on image to the left)

Board Games and Wargames

To clarify, Board Games are usually more rigid in structure, they offer less space for custom items. Miniature Wargames can offer Rule Sets to cover most battle situations and scenery items and military units can be combined to create your own unique scenarios. As a result, preparation before battle can be time intensive but that's all part of the game.

In the next update (between now and tomorrow) we will be looking at Scenery and Figures for different environments and contexts.
