I am a healthcare professional, working in this field since 1992. A friend of mine introduced me to Wealthy Affiliate University and showed how he made 500 dollars a month from people who signed up for his affiliate marketing offers. I decided to give this resource a thorough review, as it is the first program where I had first hand testimonial to its effectiveness.

Though I have made a good living advertising my consulting services through my website, I had never actually marketed myself or my services before. Generating revenue on the web was not my focus. Other than e-commerce or E-Bay, any web work I did was strictly working on my website. I had heard of Wealthy Affiliate University, but until my friend showed me his payout, I was deeply skeptical.

My review of this business

My first concern was ethical. I have been hit up with multi-level marketing "home based businesses" and the like plenty of times, and none of them made sense. To make money you had to continually harvest your friends and family. Unless they too did the same, the "easy money" never came. Frankly, I never want to do that. The methods explained in Wealthy Affiliate University had to work without depending on selling other chumps on easy money.

Wealthy Affiliate, as the name implies, bills itself as a step-by-step process to earn money online by generating focused web pages, generating web and search engine traffic to those pages and earning money through affiliate marketing and ad revenues. I have two expectations.

First, I want to see a well-organized step-by-step set of instructions written for the layperson.

Second, it had better not be a lot of nonsense.

Third, I firmly believe that hard work is how money is made. Unless your name is Hilton, there is no such thing as easy money. I expected to have instructions that go beyond three easy steps to wealth.

I signed up. They are pretty slick - Wealthy Affiliate offers an eight week course and you do not get the next week until a week has transpired. I was irritated at first - this means you can't see the whole shebang until you have paid for two months. Nevertheless I dove into the first week.

For your fee you get the aforementioned weekly course. The weekly courses are divided up into lessons, and each lesson has a set of tabbed instructions. It took me a few tries to get the hang of things, but once I became familiar with the site organization, it was fine.

I can tell you two things. First, there is a huge amount of information. Second, it is very well organized. While it does include some video content, Wealthy Affiliate University will require a lot of reading. The text is clearly written. As I have been looking the material over, I am checking for flaws or poorly presented information. You do have to pay attention and perhaps re-read parts to fully understand, but the relatively slow progression the material follows from simple to complex will serve anyone with a high-school education or above. If you can send email, you should be able to follow through on the instructions. Perseverance will pay off.

In my career I have met professionals who have given me bits and pieces of the puzzle for search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO) all of which have been helpful and given results. I mentioned that I manage a substantial Google AdWords buy, and before joining Wealthy Affiliate, had dabbled in generating AdSense revenue, also from Google. This lead me into keyword research and using various methods to improve the performance of web pages in holding the attention of visitors. Finally, I have been doing a great deal of research on improving page rank - Google's metric indicating the importance of a website - and have been working on the slow work of organically improving the page rank of my client's websites.

Everything I have reviewed on Wealthy Affiliate University has been in synch with what I know from other sources. Their lessons on article marketing are spot-on and accurate. They have included solid insights and good suggestions that had not occurred to me. One tip about using a MyYahoo page and Ping-O-Matic to prompt a web crawl of my website was worth this month's fee by itself.

It is clear that the developers of Wealthy Affiliate do know what they are doing. They are focused on helping you develop search-friendly web pages and identifying high-value opportunities.
Two close associates make money through the web. One learned how to do it over several years, and is now making a tidy 4000 dollars monthly income. The other in less than six moths is making 500 dollars a month following the instructions on Wealthy Affiliate University . It is not easy - a good deal of effort will have to be invested. However, the value of Wealthy Affiliate is in not wasting time on methods that do not perform.

There are thousands if not millions of hucksters out there telling the public to make money online. There are probably a large number that offer content at least as good as Wealthy Affiliate . That said, this program has certainly proven its value to me. I can recommend this program as a resource to learn not just affiliate marketing, but as solid one-stop shop for skills and insight for any business with a website to improve the performance of their websites.

P.S. If you learn just one thing from this page...

Wealthy Affiliate, also offers server space as part of the membership fee. It features unlimited space to build web sites and blogs. While a person can find server space cheaper than the monthly membership fee of Wealthy Affiliate University, (HostGator.com is who I use) a novice user would benefit from having the sort of help and support available as a member. The ability to have unlimited domains and sub-domains for your work as an internet marketer is a very solid benefit. I found the keyword research tool to be not quite as powerful as other tools such as Keyword Country , but KC costs 300 dollars a year - more if you buy monthly. They have a forum where questions, answers and best practices are shared.

I could go on, but so far I have been very impressed. This is not nonsense. In fact, I would recommend membership in Wealthy Affiliate for any business person looking to improve the visibility of their website. Frankly it is less expensive by far than a consultation with SEO experts, and I have found that half these experts have no real clue.
