The Wealthy Affiliate Program (WA)
I already have a handful of websites that I make money on just by providing my own information. I am an information junkie if you can't tell by my lenses! Most of what I have learned about making money online comes from Site Build it! which is more about creating a website and good content on a topic to pre-sell the products meaning that people will want to buy from you when you take a more engaging approach rather than a sales approach.
The Wealthy Affiliate (WA) is more about just taking any topic and creating a one page landing page and using Adwords to drive traffic to your site or to use free article marketing resources to promote your products. You don't even have to have a site.
I will be looking at these two methods of promoting affiliate products.

Wealthy Affiliate 101
There program comes with some research tools that really don't make any sense to me and I don't see them explained anywhere. They do have an action guide but they only give you a week at a time meaning you have to stay 2 months just to get the whole action guide.
A Wealthy Affiliate Marketing campaign will use things like Adwords, Squidoo and article marketing to direct people to the product that you are selling.
As far as I can tell you can pick any product you want and just market it. I personally will only market something I have used or personally know about but I think you can just take any product and run with it.
Site Build it!
You can now learn how to build a website by taking an online class for 12 weeks. It includes webhosting for a year too.

Wealthy Affiliate - Week Four
The main thing is doing research to find a niche you want to promote but they don't really tell you much about how to really do that. There are tools to start researching keywords and things like how many people are searching for your keywords and how many sites supply those keywords. How you take that information and turn it into a profitable campaign is still a mystery to me. So I am just taking a few topics that interest me and trying a few things.
Here is the basic theory that I am understanding so far.
- Use various tools to research various topics. You start broad like 'Stop Smoking" and then narrow it down to a a specific area or keyword phrase. Stop smoking in two weeks or easy way to stop smoking or Stop smoking Now are keyword phrases that can be worked with more easily.
- Find out what they supply is - how man sites are out there that use those exact keywords. You can do a search with the phrase in "quotation marks" to find the exact words. (Yes no one really searches like that but they should. The results will give you an idea of how many sites that there out there using that exact phrase. Look for a total amount of about 5000 or less even.)
- Use article marketing by using Squidoo.com or ezinearticles.com or other article directories and create articles using those exact keywords. In the articles you can use your affiliate link (if allowed by the specific medium) or a link to your website. You try to get your pages to the top of the search engines for those exact keywords.
- The more articles on the keyword/topic the better.
- Having a website you should start with creating a page on that website first and if using Site Build it! you have a good chance of getting that ranking on the first page of Search engine results especially if you are creating a whole site on that specific niche.
Week 8 of the Wealthy Affiliate Program
I am going back to week one and going through it all step by step. I think the key is just trying it with one product and selecting about 15 keywords and write about 10 articles for each keyword and see if it works. Then try a few more different keywords if that doesn't work.
The thing is to stay with it which is sometimes hard to do when it isn't making any money yet. My daily plan is to create some pages on my websites and then do some article marketing and go through my keyword list.
Here are the main things I have learned:
- Research the topic and find out as much as you can about the people who are interested and buy products in the niche. ( I am not sure exactly how to translate that into a campaign)
- The best niches are formed by keywords you can deduct that the person which used the keywords are looking at the very moment to BUY a solution, using a long tail keyword
