The company that makes the Webkinz animals is called Ganz. It was started by Samuel Ganz and their main office is located in Toronto, Canada.

Ganz has been in business since 1950, but they just recently released the Webkinz plush toys in 2005. There are about 68 different types of animals in the main collection and 3 of them are retired now. (All they do is play so I don't know why they would be retired).

The cheeky cat, cheeky dog, and love puppy are rare since they are retired, which means they cost a lot of money if you can find one for sale. Is your Webkinz For Sale?

There are also smaller versions of the plush toys called Lil' Kins. They are just as adorable as the big ones and there are 28 of them for daddy to pick from as gifts for me.

Webkinz is having its 3rd birthday and to celebrate they are having a party. Not only will there be great new prizes on Webkinz World but check with your local retailer, because they have stores that sell Webkinz involved as well.

Local retailers are supposed to have lots of games and activities planned for the day. The local Hallmark nearby told me that for every $10 that you spend in the store you receive a free Webkinz pet. New Webkinz

Look out for the new Webkinz 2008 stuffed plush animals that are soon to be released in February. If you are anything like me then you will be so impressed with these new webkinz. Take a look!

This new 39" inch webkinz tiger snake is sure to be a favorite when it is released this March. I guess I will have to make my jungle room just a bit bigger to make it feel at home.

Wow! One of my favorite animals. My first webkinz ever was the tiger and this March the new Bengal Tiger will be able to keep him company.

You're probably asking yourself what separates these plush animal toys from the once popular beanie babies?

Well, Webkinz are just as adorable as beanie babies, but unlike them I get to take care of my pet online. I get to use daddy's computer to play with my virtual pet and make sure that he is happy. He sits in my lap and I buy him things that he needs like food and toys to play with (Don't worry, you don't use real money, you earn KinzCash from playing educational games).

Daddy says that this is a great educational resource that combines a cute stuffed animal with an informative website that teaches children responsibility at an early age.

I don't know about that, but it sure is fun and I love spending time with Daddy on the computer. He helps me with the trivia and I think he likes playing some of the games as much as I do.

I was in a toy store today and to my surprise I found some Webkinz for sale. Not only that they were actually on sale. Buy three get one free. I couldn't believe my luck. So I got a frog, chihuahua, horse, and of course the Webkinz Halloween black cat. I was just about to purchase it online too. Great timing. Also a new Hallmark just opened up near my house and they were handing out coupons for $5 off any purchase. You know I will be buying more Webkinz.

My cousin is only 14 months old and she already knows over 50 different signs in sign language. It is amazing. She is so cute.

I wanted to give her a Webkinz cat because she loves kitties. When I went to visit her I brought the gift and she loved it. It became one of her favorite toys. My uncle told me that she makes the kitty sign when ever she can't find her webkinz cat.

Last weekend my uncle took my baby cousin on a hike and when they got to the top of the mountain, my cousin Kyra was making the kitty sign and seemed very upset. He looked around and said, "I don't see a kitty anywhere".

When they started to head back to the car, about half way down the trail he saw her webkinz kitty in the middle of the path. He didn't realize that she had brought it along, and she was upset that she dropped it and was trying to tell him. Luckily they were able to find her new favorite toy.

Here is a newer recipe that isn't as difficult as others. Here are some hints for you. See if you can solve it without looking.
-For the first ingredient look at the picture and find an item that resembles part of the picture.
-For the second ingredient look for a food that is somehow related to lava or fire.
-For the third ingredient look at the lettering in the name and find an ingredient that has similar lettering structure. (This is the hardest ingredient)

I'm Maya's father and this is where I am going to share some tips and ideas that I have learned about parenting, while spending quality time with my daughter in Webkinz World.

Tip #1: Use Webkinz World as an incentive for your kids to get their homework and chores done. For example, when your child gets home from school let them know that they can spend time online with their webkinz pet once they have completed their homework and cleaned their room.

Tip #2: If you want to be creative, you can design some of your own Kinz cash and use it as a reward for good behavior throughout the day. Make a chart with the amount of kinz cash it will cost them to spend x amount of time online in Webkinz World. For example: 5 kinz cash= 5 minutes online.

You could also allow them to choose to use the kinz cash to buy a new Webkinz toy. This is a great way to teach them how to earn and save up money without them wanting to spend it on candy or something else. Once they have saved up enough you can make a trip to the store to let them pick out their new pet webkinz.

Make sure that when you reward them you say something to them like: "I sure do like it when you clean your room nice and neat, Thank you".

So now that you know how to use your child's fascination with Webkinz to your advantage, you only need one more thing. The Kinz Cash! This is much easier to do than you think, and you can do it free.

1- Find a picture that you want to have on your kinz cash. You can go to google images and do a search for a picture that you want.

2- Save the picture you want to a file in your computer. I have a file named images where I save my images.

3- Click on the image of my Kinz cash below to go to a free website to make your webkinz currency, and simply follow their instructions.

4- Once you have your own personal kinz cash image you can print it up or take it to the local copy center to have it printed up to use as an incentive for your children's good behavior. For example: If your child earns up to 5 kinz cash for good behavior then you can allow them to cash it in to you in exchange for some time on the computer in Webkinz World.

With today's hustle and bustle society it is extremely difficult to get quality time in with the people that matter most. I can tell you from experience (little did I know it would work out so wonderfully) that purchasing a Webkinz stuffed animal for each of my children has actually brought me closer together with them.

You can easily build family communication and togetherness by having a weekly Webkinz toy game hobby night. Set aside one night of the week that you devote to spending time with your children and their Webkinz pet. If you get together one night each week you can get back in touch with those most special to you and rekindle those family ties.

Those families with small children will probably focus more on the toy aspect of the Webkinz night. Take the time to get down on the floor and play with your small ones. Cuddle your child's Webkinz pet and call yourself "grandma" or "grandpa." If you have some clothes for the Webkinz stuffed animal you can play dress up.

Modeling dough is also a great activity for your children. Collect some small cookie cutters and old jar lids and create fancy cookies and desserts for your webkinz pet - inedible and calorie-free, of course! The kids can turn a large box on it's side for a counter and place the goodies on display to sell. Of course, you'll have your homemade kinz cash to buy, eat, and enjoy!

For those children that are a bit older and understand Webkinz World a bit more, you can spend the night online helping them take care of their adopted pet. You can play games together with them and help them earn some kinz cash. Help them discover new recipes. Teach them how to win at checkers (don't worry, there are some great tutorials below on how to win easily if you aren't sure yourself). Create a new theme room for your Webkinz that you and your child build together.

Having a Webkinz toy, game, hobby night every week will help you stay close to your kids as they grow up. It will keep the bond of love fresh and the lines of communication open. Even if your child eventually grows out of the Webkinz phase you will be able to adjust your family night to another hobby or activity. Plan a toy game hobby night this week!

Just the other day I was at my son's scouting activity and I found out one of the scout badges was recalled due to being made in China. It turns out that there are no laws about using lead paint there. Many of the toys shipped to the United States were painted with lead and are now being recalled.

So how dangerous is this? Everyone knows that lead is a toxic substance that has been known to cause cancer. In 2006 there was an incident where a child swallowed a small toy that had lead paint and died from it.
