Credentials of the Teacher
With the Internet teeming with so-called Gurus, it is essential to choose a teacher who is sincere and credible. This lens is about me, why I consider myself to teach on what is blogging and the underlying principle behind starting a lens on how to blog
Introduction: My First Blog
My credentials for teaching tips on Blogging
Hi,It is not customary to share one's name on Squidoo. I am supposed to refer to myself as "Money Making Momma" or something to that effect.
I do have such a nickname. As you can see from the screen, it's WebtoBank.
But my real name is Jayanthi Iyengar.
The reason for sharing this information (the whys of it!), is to impart credibility to what I am about to say.
This is a process to separate the grain from the chaff. For as you already know---you would not have landed on this page without having googled a little, or lot, depending on how long you have been at it.
And you already know, my dear friends, the Internet is teeming with Gurus selling so many of those overnight rags to riches stories that it is impossible to judge who is legitimate and who is not.
So as a first step, google my name. That should give you an idea of who I am: an established journalist, who has written for several publications trans-nationally, on subjects as diverse as nanotechnology, financial engineering, finance, alternative health, fitness and care giving,
So why am I here?.
At a personal level of course, I currently suffer from what I call the byline overload.
In simple terms, it means that seeing my name in print no longer gives me as much pleasure as it did when I started my writing and reporting 20 years ago.
This might sound like throwing away a gift for those of who have trouble writing even a simple "Thank You" note, but believe me, if you have been doing it as long as I have, there is no challenge left in it.
In short, I need a new challenge.
The Internet, I find, has the right mix of content and technology---the former I know inside out, the latter, sad to say, is beyond me most of the time--to keep my creative juices going.
That's enough of personal reasons!
At a professional level, there's an undeniable challenge. A new bar to cross. To match my skills against those who claim to be making over $350,000 and more off the Internet!
Now, unlike all of these Gurus, who are quick to share with you a picture of their paychecks, I am going to sell you something else.
It is called SINCERITY. And my sincerity is backed by knowledge I gained over the years, finding and writing the most attractive content, day after day, 24x7 for exactly readers like you.
It's true that I may occasionally refer you to some products---more on the whys of this later---but it would be incidental to what I share with you rather being central to my presence here.
And incidentally, if you feel cheated and are already dismissing me as one more of those Internet Gurus, hold on!
I promise I will introduce you to some freebies from time to time, along with some paid infotech products, which are essential for making money on the Internet.
And whenever I do that, it will be backed with information and transparency.
For the underlying principle behind this Lens is SINCERITY.
