Wednesday 13

Wednesday 13 is a horror punk band that began in 2004 in North Carolina and continues to play today. The band is named after the front man with the same name. Wednesday 13 had been the front man with a previous band, The Murderdolls. When The Murderdolls disbanded, Wednesday 13 decided to form another band that mixed Rock and Punk with a heavy influence from horror movies. All of the band's lyrics and music are written by front man Wednesday 13, and he also plays the guitar, bass, keyboard and sings the vocals.

After The Murderdolls went on Hiatus, Wednesday 13 began a tour of the United Kingdom in March of 2004 with the Graveyard A Go-Go Tour. He was joined by a Punk bank from Florida called Death Becomes You, but only as a temporary arrangement.

Wednesday 13 returned to North Carolina after the tour was over to form a band and Wednesday 13, the band, was born. After adding a few other band members, the band continued to play for fans with their unique style and sound. Some critics, and even fans, compare Wednesday's sound to the bands Kiss and Alice Cooper, from which Wednesday 13 took much influence from. During this time, the band added and traded members before taking to another tour.

In November 2004, Wednesday 13 toured Europe for the Look What The Bats Dragged In Tour. During that tour, they partnered up with the English Band Viking Skull.

After the Bats Dragged In Tour was over, Wednesday 13 returned to the United States and released their next album Transylvania 90210. To promote the new album released a promotional video for the album titled, "I Walked With A Zombie", where the band acted along with footage from the horror film Night Of The Living Dead. The band also headed a United Kingdom promotional tour for Transylvania 90210 with their Tour From The Crypt.

Opening For Alice Cooper

The band continued to tour, gaining a fan base and they even played at the Download Festival in Donington. The band's greatest achievement, however, came when they opened for their idol Alice Cooper around Halloween time. For band members, and especially Wednesday 13, this was a dream come true.

Band Members Part Ways

Just before the September 2006 release of their album Fang Bang, Wednesday 13 split with Roadrunner Records and signed on with Rykodisc. Wednesday 13 had added more band members by then but all other members parted ways with the lead singer in March and April of the same year. Wednesday 13 later stated that he wished all of his previous band mates luck and said that their parting had been amicable.

Wednesday 13 then teamed up with his former Murderdolls guitarist Eric Griffin and later added Racci Shay and Brix, the bassist from the band Dope. Except for Brix, this lineup would be permanent.

Most recently, the band toured in the early part of 2007, teamed with band Vains of Jenna. They are currently filming a new video show "Weirdo A Go-Go", which is a horror film mock-up. As the band states on their official website, or gravesite as the site is called, the project will include the same morbid sense of humor fans have come expect from Wednesday 13. While it's an admitted departure from music, it will still entertain Wednesday's dedicated fan base.

Wednesday 13 also states that they are planning a summer tour in the United States with The 69 Eyes, Fair to Midland and Night Kills the Day, proving that Wednesday 13's horror genre punk mix continues to resonate with fans.
