This site is dedicated to helping people lose weight, especially fat, balance their bodies and become healthier as well as an appropriate size.

When you lose weight correctly you will have the proper fat to lean ratio. The proper fat to lean ratio means you have improved your bio-markers of health. That is a very important accomplishment.

My Own Weight Loss Story
How I lost 65 inches of fat and changed my life.
Let me tell you my story, and how I became involved in adding Weight Loss to my wellness program. I was a person who wanted to be slim and trim. I had been dieting my entire life. Instead of becoming smaller I just became fatter. I HATED IT !!I didn't know why my body was so out of control. I had tried everything.
When I say I tried everything I mean it. I had been on low calorie diets, high fat diets, Protein Power, the Adkins diet, weight watchers, the cabbage soup diet, . and so many many more.
I had spent a fortune on diet books and diet solutions that didn't work. I was so depressed because nothing made any difference.. After each and every diet I had tried, if I lost anything it came crashing back including much more. I ended up being even fatter than when I began..

I Decided to try one more Program
My last chance to lose weight fast.
Yes,I decided to try one more program, it was exciting yet scary. Would it work this time? It hadn't before. I wanted it to work so badly. I had my daughter take pictures of me. That was despite me hating having my picture taken as I looked so discusting.I had read a book entitled: ."The Genetic Key Diet" by Dr. Steve Nugent. I knew he is very intelligent, well versed and totally into wellness. (I have been into wellness for most of my life.) I even had a list of his degrees and other credentials. So, that's why I decided to take this chance and try this program.
I made a commitment to lose excess weight (actually fat), using the GK Diet. It contained all the information that I needed on the Glycemic Index Plan. I signed up with a coach personally taught by Dr. Nugent. She supplied me with the nuts and bolts of the program, and I had access to weekly classes, diet buddies, and of course the accountability that only a coach can provide.
With my genetics and my excess weight I was at risk for Type 2 diabetes, along with all the health issues that come from being overweight. Also, I was extremely miserable. Do you believe me I HATED IT? I did, I HATED the fat.
I did the program. It was a program, or a plan that worked. I made a commitment, and I used a coach. Yes, a coach . Notice it is important to have all three:

My Weight Loss Formula
1. A Plan... with a Goal: Having a plan with no goal or a goal with no plan on how to achieve it makes little sense. If you don't have a plan and a goal, it's like starting out on a trip with no map or destination in mind. Where will you end up? If you want concrete results you nee both a plan, and a goal.2. Commitment: A diet change can't be "temporary". Dieting doesn't work. You need a lifestyle adjustment with boundaries to stay within. The attitude of dieting to lose the weight and then going back to the same old eating habits that got you there in the first place is ridiculous. Of course, people like you and I have done it much too often.
3. A Coach: Probably the most underrated of the 3 points because the coach can help you with the nutrition, education and plan. And don't forget the benefit of accountability to someone on a regular basis. That is Key.

I am so thrilled with my weight loss (actually fat loss) results that I became certified, yes, by Dr. Nugent, and have been teaching others to get these very same results. I love it!

My instructor, teacher and mentor, Dr. Steve Nugent has said everyone should be on a program based on the glycemic index. All people should eat either low glycemic or at the most moderately glycemic.

- Like you, I have tried everything. The only plan that I lost weight on was with a doctor that took my blood everytime I came in and would give me vitamins and minerals that my body needed. I got to the place where I wasn't hungry because I had all the vitamins I needed. Our program was a low carbohydrate high protein diet. Wish I could find that doctor again. I need to lose around 100 lbs yet....well, I don't think I want to lose that much but the doctors say I should be 150. I presently weigh about 257. Last time I lost down to 170, I looked like a zombie. I would be happy to get down that far.

- Hi Carmel,
Dr. Mark Hyman is right when he says we need to treat the underlying problems to
pre-diabetes. I found the study called (the Accord Study) a real eye opener!
Your program of eating right so as to not raise insulin in the blood stream is the correct way to eat. Keep up all those great articles so we can all learn together.

I mentioned the Accord Study in the Diabesity lens. It was an intensive treatment using maximum medications, which had to be stopped due to too many dealths.
We learn that the best way to handle all blood sugar problems is through diet, nutrition and lifestyle. Which is exactly how these problems came into existance
in the first place.
