Kids Wildlife Education For Homeschoolers or Any Schoolers

Each of the 14 lesson plan includes a teacher's page detailing the objectives, skills and time required to complete the lesson. In this example, the lesson plan uses the traditional subjects of history, geography and language arts to teach children about wildlife. The entire lesson will take 1 - 3 class periods to complete. Several different species are discussed and each has their own species information page.

Pretests, quizzes, student worksheets and activities are ready to use and easy to photocopy thanks to the spiral binding. A teachers answer sheet is included for each.

There are 69 species information sheets included that provide detailed information on critters ranging from bears to wapiti to quail and woodpeckers.

This is the main screen where children can navigate to learn about birds, mammals, wildlife education and conservation organizations including the history of fish and wildlife conservation.

This is the mammals screen where children can select from many different types of critters. A similar screen provides different categories of birds.

The interactive CD-ROM provides many species in still photography, video and sound. On this page for wild turkeys children can hear what a real gobble sounds like and view a movie of turkeys in the wild. Vocabulary terms are highlighted with links to their definitions. Using the clickable buttons at the top right, children can discover where a species lives and its requirements, what it eats, how it reproduces and learn a fun fact or two. The text on each page is narrated and music fills the empty spaces. A very pleasant learning experience.
