This is how to read Dr. John C. Maxwell Books
This article is my response to that question.
"How to Become A Leader..."
Dr. John C. Maxwell University
The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership
"Follow Them and People Will Follow You"
The first person you should learn to lead is yourself. After all, if you can't lead yourself, how do you expect to lead others. So, the second John C Maxwell book you should read is:
Developing The Leader Within You
Once you learn to lead yourself, you'll need to lead others below you... but also, you'll need to influence the leaders above you. This is why Dr. John C Maxwell wrote the second book in this list:
The 360 Degree Leader
"Developing Your Influence from Anywhere in the Organization"

"Why did Dr John C Maxwell change The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership?"
He added two new laws and he changed the content of all the other laws. He says he changed 75% of the book!
These are the laws he added:
The Law of Addition (add value to people by serving others)
Focuses on values and principles and how to apply them
The Law of The Picture
People do what people see... it's all about setting an example.
And it's not what you say, it's what you do that counts.
It's about character... and ethics.
The greatest leadership is by example... we learn visually and leadership is a visual thing.
Dr. Maxwell also folded 2 old laws into existing laws because they were similar.
Check out this video on The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership to learn more about the changes.
