So what IS Clickbank?

...are basically one and the same in my opinion.

Let me explain in a common country mom's language :)

Let's compare affiliate marketing to having a consignment shop....

Let's say you have your shop on main street and you have a variety of things in your shop on consignment from which you make a commission if a customer stops by and buys...

Affiliate marketing is exactly the same principle - the only difference is that you now have an online site or storefront where you have to find ways to get traffic to - so that people will actually be able to find you - and when they 'stop by' and make a purchase - Bingo, you make a commission!

Actually, when you have an online store - you don't have to:

Founded in 1998, ClickBank is the online retail outlet for over 10,000 digital product publishers and their 100,000 active affiliates.

ClickBank makes a sale somewhere in the world every three seconds. They serve over 200 countries, and are consistently ranked as one of the most highly trafficked sites on the web.

There are over 100,000 active affiliate marketers currently using ClickBank.

And, from all the stories, not one of them started their career
knowing that they wanted to be an affiliate marketer. Now, they can't think
of anything else they would rather do.

Take Miles Baker and Russell Brunson for example.

Baker didn't finish
college, tried IT support and sold hot tubs full-time.

Brunson tried his hand
at real estate, side jobs, ran a raking company that lasted all of four days
and tried making it big with e-Bay.

publisher (the e-book writer, software developer, etc.) and the affiliate
through a pay-for-performance revenue sharing model.

Affiliates choose
which products to offer from ClickBank's Marketplace and know, up-front,
the amount they will make when a transaction takes place.

Commission
rates for affiliates vary, depending on the rate set by the product publisher,
but for ClickBank users the rate is often as high as 75 percent.
