The beloved Movie Classics White Christmas
For me Christmas just would not be Christmas with out sitting down with my Family and watching Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen
in this timeless holiday musical.History and facts about the musical White Christmas
White Christmas was the top grossing film of 1954 not bad for a movie the only too 2 months to film.
The movie was originally set to star Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby.
Fred Astaire read the script and didn't like it so he bowed out.
Donald O'Connor was asked to replace Astaire.
However Donald O'Connor was ill at the time so he also had to pass on the film.
Finally Danny Kaye stepped into the roll and what a wonderful job he did.
Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen rounded out the cast.
Interestingly enough Rosemary Clooney could not dance and Vera-Ellen could not sing.
All Vera-Ellen singing was dubbed by Trudy Stevens with the exeption of the song "Sisters", Rosemary Clooney sang both parts .

- I agree... this is a must-see movie every December. I can't imagine the film without Danny Kaye. I've featured this on my 'White Christmas' lyrics lens.
