White Schnauzer's

Switch dog food slowly.

Because switching too fast will upset their tummies. Miniature Schnauzers and all dogs are very prone to Hemorragic Gastroenteritis. This is a disease of dogs characterized by sudden vomiting and bloody diarrhea. Always be sure to switch your Schnauzers food gradually over a week or two if you are switching them to a different brand of food or even a different formula of the same brand.

Often mistaken for a Westie.

Often times, a white miniature schnauzer that is not groomed with a traditional schnauzer cut, may be mistaken for a west highland terrier. However, just take a look at the legs on both animals, and you'll quickly notice that the schnauzer has a much longer and leaner look.

Miniature Schnauzer Colors

Miniature Schnauzers come in three basic colors genetically - either black (with a black skin) or liver (with a brown skin). Then there's the true White Miniature Schnauzer which is genetically a dog with the color turned "off" so that it has white hair and pink skin.

"White"

Mating 2 white miniature Schnauzers together will produce 100% white puppies because white is a double recessive gene phenotype.

Breeders of the white variant claim that these dogs have no known congenital or lethal white gene theories. They are not albino dogs, and white dogs described as Miniature Schnauzers are affectionate and robust dogs who exhibit all the qualities of their colored counterparts.

They are disqualified in the AKC and American Miniature Schnauzer Club conformation competition. They may compete in other AKC sanctioned events such as agility, Canine Good Citizen, Obedience, or Earthdog trials. ~ notes from wiki
