Who is Elaine Love

I live in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, which is a world class ski mountain. I'm a telemark skier living at the base of the mountain.

Life in Steamboat is active, healthy and stimulating. Activities are available in every season from skiing, hiking, biking, horseback riding to Strings in the Mountain music festivals. Boredom is impossible for the spirited at heart. I enjoy every bit of it.

Elaine Love is both absolutely feminine and a savy business lady. I fully believe that a female can be feminine, athletic, intelligent and successful all at the same time. Tall order? Yes, but I love a challenge.

With a positive attitude, a smile on my face and a spring in my step, I love my life.

Balance is ideal in life: financial, relationship, mental, physical and spiritual. Of course they will not be equal at all times, but I truly love my life.

First and foremost is my family. I have two sons, Doug and Dan, whom I adore. Doug has two boys, Kaden and Kyler, and Dan has two sons, Gus and Gordon. Needless to say all 6 of them, especially the little guys, have Gramie wrapped around their little fingers. All they have to do is look up at me with that beautiful smile and give me a hug and kiss and I melt into a little emotional puddle at their feet. Doug and Dan make me so proud of them in every possible way. In my eyes they set the bar very high for every man as fathers, husbands, career, ethics, and attitude for life.

Community service has always been a significant part of my life. I've been a docent for the Arts Council for many many years, on the Guild of Strings in the Mountains, a very active chamber ambassador for the city of Steamboat Springs and an active participant in many roles in my church.

Giving back to the community enhances the quality of life we all seek and treasure. Giving back to my team and other members of the company improves life for all of us. Money is important; however, there is more to life than just making money. Life seeks balance.

You already know how significant my exercise is to my life. Personal development plays a huge role in success. I am a work in progress continually evolving and progressing. My goal is to leave a legacy to make my friends, family and business associates proud and an example and inspiration for others to follow.

Few, if any, excel by staying in the crowd and doing what everyone else does. I certainly did not do that. I am an entrepreneur at heart. True entrepreneurs step away from the "tell me what to do" employee mentality and reach for their goals.

Picture a petite young lady walking into a classroom of senior boys in law class on my 21st birthday. The 40 boys are 17 and 18. The buzz in the room is "There is a girl taking law. . . Oh, ____, it's the teacher." They are in high school and I'm a college grad. Next I put my name, LOVE on the board. Ok I understand challenges.

It doesn't stop there. I ran a chain of Goodyear dealerships in Detroit in the 70s. Talk about a non-traditional role and industry for a very feminine lady. It's fun to step out of my comfort zone and step away from the crowd. I know how to dare to be different and achieve all my goals. Even better, I know how to teach you how to achieve all of your goals.

My entrepreneurial spirit demanded to be expressed. I purchased a small struggling bakery in a ski resort in Colorado. Numerous innovations, expansions and creative new products expanded the business and the bottom line. Income was fine but the hours were far too long. I sold Candy Mountain in 1986.

Time for a new challenge. Several property management companies thrived in the ski resort; however they all dealt with condominiums. I saw a niche in managing homes. Naturally when everyone told me it could not be done with homes and that I would fail, it became a challenge. 17 years later I sold Mountain Castles as one of the premier property management companies in the resort boasting of well over 100 single family homes and a happy bottom line. 'Innovator of the Year," first web site in the county, first property management company to market reservations on the internet, and numerous awards were credited to Mountain Castles and me.

Entrepreneurialism runs through my veins; however, the long hours and being on call 24/7/365 leaves a dent in the ideal business model. The business owned me. I sold it.

The next few years were a little static as I dabbled in a couple of direct marketing companies. Either the product wasn't quite right or the business model had gaps and rough edges. Then I found my ideal: essential products people really need and want, generous compensation plan, co-founders and leadership with integrity, and a solid business plan. My entrepreneurial spirit thrives, my bank account smiles, and I genuinely help people achieve their dreams and goals. Wow, I found it all.

Life is more than just work, life requires balance. I firmly believe a lady can be feminine, athletic and successful.

Hiking the Inca trail in Peru was my special celebration for my 55th birthday. The 60 pound pack added to the challenge of the 4 day trek up the endless hand made stone steps of the trail up and over mountain tops. What a fantastic journey visiting the ruins on the trek from Cusco to Machu Picchu.

Colorado boasts 56 peaks over 14,000 feet elevation. My son, Doug, honored my request to climb 2 of them in one day for my 60th birthday. We enjoyed a long fun day climbing.
