The Simple Explanation
We all know what it feels like to be embraced by someone who loves us. It is an uplifting and healing experience to be with those people in our lives who 'recharge us', make us feel stronger, energized, happier, safer, loved, and more stable. That supportive unconditional love energy is what the Reiki practitioner provides during a healing.
Quantum Physical Explanation
Part I- String Theory
In the 1970's scientists uncovered String Theory, which offered an answer to Einstein's longstanding query, what is the law that links the macro (planetary movements, Relativity) to the micro (the seemingly more erratic behavior exhibited by subatomic particles)?According to String Theory, the old ball and stick model of an atom is inaccurate. We already knew that there were clouds of probability in which electrons could be found, but further experimentation led to the discovery that electrons are not actual particles! Rather they are fields of negative charge. And protons are fields of positive charge. So the fundamental building blocks of matter are immaterial!! They are "strings" which are energetic waves. So there is no such thing as matter! Objects only appear solid because of the rapid movement of the energetic strings- much like a swinging pendulum can appear to fill space.
So Nothing is Solid!
The implications of this discovery are monumental. If one follows this logic then it becomes evident that a human foot is made of energy- no part of it is solid! It only appears solid because our eyes do not have a powerful enough microscope to see beyond the tiniest particles into the space where there is only energy.Fundamentally there is only energy so it becomes logical to treat the body with subtle energetic treatments.
Part II: Consciousness
Deepak Chopra, an Indian physician trained in Ayurveda, as well as in Western medicine, adds a mystical aspect to this theory.He explains that there is consciousness present in the energy. There is truth to the saying "our body remembers trauma." On the most fundamental level, we are made of waves of consciousness, which can understand, function, heal, etc!

Part III: Reiki, Energy healing
Since human bodies are made of waves of consciousness, one can effectively treat them using waves of unconditional love energy, such as those used in Reiki healing and other types of energetic work.Having the intention to heal is an important factor, as the energy field of the healer contacts that of the recipient. The frequency of the patient's energy can then align with the goal of healing as well, and healing can manifest in the 'physical' or 'material' body.
It is also key to allow the Divine consciousness energy to come through the crown chakra of the healer to add power, knowledge, and to more perfectly direct the energy to where healing is needed.

Your affirmations of our divine nature are inspiring.
The "wave'-particle duality" concept suggests that phenomena exhibit the characteristics of both waves and particles, and my impression is that a thing is not entirely a wave nor a particle and that our assumption that we have placed our interpretation between ourselves and a direct connection with reality as it is. The either/ or begets our sense of separation and woundedness as we blind ourselves in one eye and cease seeing through both at once, with the heart.
It seems for awhile we tested out the hypothesis that everything is fixed and solid and that observers and the observed are entirely separate and unrelated. And then Reality started to respond - "Well, yes! and I will also appear this way according to how you look - and so will you! I can be seemingly mutually exclusive things at the same time. Everything you've seen to be true is true and also not entirely true as only I am the Truth."
