Warning to Windows 2003 SP2 and SQL Server Users
Installing SNMP on a Windows 2003 SP2 server with SQL Server installed
Be Warned!
The following services are automatically stopped without any notification to the user.
Microsoft SQL Server service
SQL Server Agent
MSDTC
These service are NOT restarted automatically.
If you downgrade to SP1 or are using any other O/S this does not happen.
This "feature" does not appear to have been advertised by Microsoft upon release of SP2 for Windows 2003.

- Thanks for the info. I think you will also find that this only affects 32bit SQL servers.

- Yes I can confirm. Yesterday we have successfully stopped production (HIGH IMPORTANT) database server with installation of SNMP. ;-) This is only message I've found on google which explaining this. Thanks.
