Winnipeg is the governmental seat of Manitoba. It is home to more than 650,000 people of many nationalities, and cultural backgrounds.

Winnipeg is only an hour drive north of North Dakota. It is also quite easy to get to from other parts of Canada and The United States. Winnipeg is an easy driving trip for anyone wanting to experience a new place.

There are plenty of places to shop in Winnipeg. There is something for everybody, and for every budget. The cost of living is less here than some of the other big cities in Canada. Housing costs are not wildly unreasonable, like other big cities in both Canada and The United States. Although housing has gone up in the last couple years, it is still approachable, for the struggling, regular hard working joe.

With a little exploring, you can find plenty for children to do. There are outside and inside activities the year round. If you can handle the snow and cold of the city sometimes called "Winterpeg", the winters won't stop you or the children from finding things to keep them entertained. In fact many kids love the winter activities.

Many areas of Winnipeg are pretty run down. With new rulings, houses are very slowly being rennovated. Even so this city is brimming with character and variety in its architecture. Some areas are full of pieces of architecture that set a mood and ambience. This is part of why Winnipeg is now used as a location for so many movies and television shows.

Who would have thought this city in the middle of Canadian farmland would have had any appeal for movie makers? With colour and character ranging from earthy and gritty, to downtown and old world, the varied architectural bounty of the city of Winnipeg is ideal. It is a reasonably easy trip to areas outside of the city of Winnipeg. Going to the provinces on either side of Manitoba is not a bad trip either. It is a little more difficult in winter.

Nice lens, I would love to travel up to Canada one day. Been to Windsor for a wedding, but that doesn't really count (other side of the river from Detroit). 5*****
