First twitter plugin I tried on my blog was TweetBacks. I used it I had a few thousand twitter spam/error comments added to my blogs comments. So if you tweet about one of my blog posts, once approved, it will show up in my blog's comment section. To get this plugin to work, I had to edit my comments.php. This wordpress plugins makes it easy for your readers tweet your posts. If they see an post they like and would like to share with their twitter followers, they just have to click the button.
You can test it out by visiting my blog, finding a post you like and twitting about it.

Connect Simply And once approved, your tweet and a link back will appear in the comments section.

WT Twitip-ID
Another cool plugin, adds twitter id to the comment form. When your readers visit your blog and comment, they will now have a link back to their twitter account. If you like someone's comment, I suggest you follow their link back and add them to your follow list, because if you like their comments, you will love their tweets.. WP Twitip-ID I have no idea why they called it easily, without the video I'd have been lost.

Twollowers
Another plugin I found but haven't used yet, puts a little birdie on your sidebar with the number of followers. Twollowers

TweetSuite
After I'd added those first few pllugins, I bumped into a few more, TweetSuite combines Tweetbacks and several other twitter tools in one package.
