Scooter Company Talk
Hello everyone and welcome to our blog. Many people have been visiting our website at www.mountmotor.com and they have sent us many e-mails asking us if the X-Treme line of gas and electric scooters are a good and reliable buy. Well the answer is both yes and no. Let me show you what I mean.
Products that are produced in China are very cheap in price but however, the quality is also very cheap; lacking in quality and running ability. X-Treme bases their company in the U.S. but they get all of their materials from China. China is one of the main suppliers for small two-stroke engines and electric motors. X-Treme also supplies their scooters with Chinese frames and other parts that include tires, wheels, deck, handle bars, and even the gas tank.
Most people who buy these scooters usually have problems with these scooters and some don't. For those who have problems you are pretty much out of luck for free replacement parts because your warranty is probably expired. This method is used a lot in "Big Business." Companies such as X-Treme create a warranty that will only cover the amount of time the scooter will actually last. For the X-Treme company their warranties are actually 30 to 60 days. For 60 days you must pay extra money.
People with experience in engineering or knowledge for two-stroke engines actually know that they should stay away from these or if they buy them they most likely know how to fix it.
Many customers of the X-Treme company are left stranded with these broken scooters and have no idea where to go. That's when people give up on that scooter and begin to build their own out of the working parts from their scooter.
Almost all people who have bought X-Treme scooters know that all of them have huge problems with their pull starters. They usually brake within the first week of usage. That is why customers have started to buy electric start scooters which are powered by a battery which runs a motor in the pull starter that starts the engine. If you buy an electric start scooter, you are in better shape than without it.
So is the X-Treme company worth the buy? Truthfully; yes and no. But if you know your way around scooters you can probably make them work the way you want them to. Some customers are very happy with their X-Treme scooters and have had them for years and some have not. For those of you new to the scooter world you are better off with the Go-Ped company or BladeZ.
