The Xerox XC23 Review
Ranked #65,212 in Computers & Electronics, #1,012,725 overall
When considering the Xerox XC23 printer and XC23 toner cartridge is it important to note that this model has been discontinued, which certainly doesn't take away from the quality that exists. There are several online retailers that are selling this model used, so if you are in the market for a low cost used printer/copier, then you may want to take a look. Here I will go over the specs of this model, and give some basic information about what is can and can not do.
Xerox Has You Covered With All Your Print Needs
The first thing to note is that this model is in fact a copier and a printer. It will not have the same speed as a stand alone printer, so the page per minute is not as high as you might expect from a printer alone. But at 23 ppm for a copier, this model does have a pretty decent print speed. It is a black and white print and copy, so this would not work if you need color copies from the Xerox Phaser cartridge.
This printer comes with all the basics, including an automatic document feeder, stapler, and collator. The collator is in the form of sorting bins. There is no binder available for this model. The maximum monthly volume of this unit is 20,000 sheets, so it has a fairly high productivity rate. This model also has an automatic input of 750 sheets, or if you prefer manual input, it can hold 50 sheets.
As far as technical details goes, this device does use a standard light lens for making copies. It also uses standard black cartridges that can be found through numerous online retailers. This is a larger unit, and may not be suitable for home use, but I have included the exact specs on that below.
The printer comes with five different preset enlargement/reduction settings, allowing you to format your copies however you wish. There is also a maximum multicopy setting of 99, so basically you can print up to 99 pages at a time without resetting.
Again, this is a larger unit, and is geared more toward small business use. But if you have the space, it would not be unheard of to use this model in your home office. Weighing in at 152 pounds, and measuring at 35.5 x 24.2 x 22 inches, it isn't extremely large, but it's not very small either. Depending on what you need it for, considering you would be paying a reduced price for it, it might be fine for your personal use.
Being that this is more of a basic, get the job done copier/printer, it is quite efficient. It is very simple to operate, and even a beginner should have no problems operating it. This model is very much like what you would find at your local self copy and print store. It is a straight forward machine to operate, and has a good productivity rate.
Since the Xerox XC23 Printer is no longer available new, you would have to purchase a used one. There are numerous companies online that have these for sale. They seem to run about $250 used, and the replacement cartridges are approximately $80-$85. For the price, this may very well be worth the investment even though is discontinued.
Searching line for XC23 compatible toners will yield some great choices of retailers offering this type of Xerox printer toners. With the deals to be had there, cartridge and toner for this printer is easy to find and buy.
