Why I Recommend the Book Your Backyard Herb Garden
Your Backyard Herb Garden: A Gardener's Guide to Growing Over 50 Herbs Plus How to Use Them in Cooking, Crafts, Companion Planting and More by Miranda Smith contains lists and information to help you know which herbs love shade or full sun; what type of soil each herb prefers; complete information about fragrant herbs and culinary herbs.
Each of the fifty herbs discussed in this book are listed showing how much care the herb needs, if it can be properly grown in a container, its ease in growing, how much it yeilds, and more.
This book is a MUST for the beginner herb gardener and an exceptional tool for the more experienced herb gardener. I highly recommend it to everyone.

I grow some, and buy others. I aim to grow them all, but having only a couple of window containers, which are already quite occupied by tomatoes and cucumbers leaves little room. I have got mint, basil, rosemary, chives and thyme there though.

This is my first year growing herbs. I am growing them indoors and outdoors. The idea of having fresh herbs all year is making it all worthwhile.

- Hi RMS, doing a bit of a tour of your lenses right now. This lens looks like it should be in the All About Growing Food Group. A couple of notes on it - in the poll - how about instead of "I use herbs for everything", I kind of expected "All of the above" - although the quirkiness does add to this lens' appeal. The module "Start your own herb garden" is actually missing a product - it would be good to fix that. I would also consider changing your profile - I have started customizing my profile on my lenses to show my relevant background/experience a bit. Shows my readers where I am coming from more. I hope you don't mind the critique.
