You Pray, Jesus Answers Prayer Requests

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
--Philippians 4:6-7, NKJ

After coming to the Lord in May, 2002 I started my own Christian prayer request site at YouPray.JesusAnswers.com, which I have maintained ever since. This site was created with a community in mind, encouraging every visitor to join in and pray for the needs of those who posted their requests. I believe that prayer is a gift, that in praying for others we are sowing seeds and that every prayer we make on behalf of another comes back to us as well, in it's own unique time and it's own unique way. I believe that it is especially important for those of us who have our own prayer needs to take the time to pray for the needs of others. I believe that this helps us take our focus off of our own selves and our own situation to reconnect with God and our community and our brothers and sisters in Christ. It helps us know that we are not alone and it strengthens us and encourages us to know that others are praying for us even as we are praying for them.

Making the move from YouPray.JesusAnswers.com to Squidoo.com/Your-Prayer-Request-Page allows me to expand on this ideal. It allows for greater exposure, bringing more people together in prayer. It also allows for visitors who post a request to sign up for email alerts whenever a new comment is added, and allows others to reply individually to each prayer request.

Please join me in this new and exciting phase of "You Pray, Jesus Answers" Prayer Requests. And most importantly, take the time to pray for those in need.

RIGHTEOUS IS HIS NAME

Our Lord is not a cruel God.
He takes no delight in our sufferings,
But is truly joyful
When they bring us closer to Him.

Our Lord is not an unjust God.
For it is by his laws, and no facsimile thereof,
That the greatest good
May be accomplished for all.

Our Lord is not an unreasonable God.
He does not provide the laws
Under which we are to live
Without also giving us the means,
And the ability,
Through which we may obey them.

The means is by His Grace
Through the Lord Jesus Christ,
Whom bore the weight of our sins
And suffered even unto death
Upon the Cross,
That we may have everlasting life.

The ability is Faith.
For by the measure of our Faith
Shall we walk according to his will.

Therefore praise the Lord thy God,
And Love Him with all of thy heart,
For truly righteous is His name.

THE ETERNAL FLOWER

The giving of the heart
Is like the eternal flower
That, with the timely unfolding
Of each and every petal,
A new and more glorious one
Shall be born
And revealed unto you.

Yet in this, as in all things,
Practice patience, dear friend,
Lest you rend a petal
Untimely from it's source
And the new,
Exposed before its time,
Should wither and die.

A PRAYER HEARD UTTERED BY A HOMELESS MAN

Blessed am I
To have received this gift from you,
Dear Lord,
That I may come to better know you,
And myself through you.

You strengthen me in my path,
Dear Lord,
Knowing that you are with me,
In both good times and in bad,
And that you shall never forsake me.

But you shall walk with me always,
Dear Lord,
Hand in hand
Until we enter your mighty Kingdom.
