I am a retired teacher / school librarian. We continue to educate by maintaining 2 nature related websites and by giving talks about the native plants of Louisiana, creating backyard wildlife habitats and gardening to attract wildlife, including birds, butterflies and hummingbirds.

I love to take pictures and hope you enjoy viewing them. I write to share my thoughts, blog for experience, and try to learn as I go...and boy is there a lot to learn! I invite you to view my personal blog.

I am a fashion designer, writer, publisher, artist, doll maker, animal rights activist, costume maker, embroiderer, sales representative, feral cat rescuer, and two time NaNoWriMo winner. My name is Wendy C. Allen a.k.a. EelKat.

Born and raised in North Carolina, I moved to New Mexico in 1986. Upon receiving my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina, I was excited about starting a new life in a new place. I have been here ever since, raising my family, painting and enjoying the beauty of this state. I painted in oils for years, but made the change to acrylics several years ago. I love the brilliant colors, the quick-drying time and the durability of acrylics. It is a blessing to live in an area with wonderful light and beautiful subject matter all around me. We have beautiful sunsets, mountain views, hot air balloons, cactus, wildflowers, and every season brings something else wonderful.

I am an author and artist who loves travel. I turned forty in August 2008 and feel like my life has just begun! I'm going back to college in 2009 to study ancient history and related subjects with the goal of participating in international volunteer organizations to help women and children in oppressed countries.

My lenses strive to bring together those passions. I love to create and promote regional art gift products, ethnic handicrafts, and design styles which appeal to me.

My past work is primarily in The Mental Health related field. I worked as a para-professional Therapist Technician Team Leader in a Residential Crisis Stabilization Unit. Funding changes in the industry left me and most of the para-professional direct care providers without jobs. I have spent my working life in fields that allowed me to learn a lot about a variety of topics. I have been a house manager in a domestic violence shelter, a second hand shop manager (for charity services that provided shelter to the homeless), and a variety of experiences both for pay and volunteer.

I have worked with children and adults in a variety of settings (educational, recreational, health & wellness, and spiritual growth). I am enrolled in the Jones International University BBA Degree program - Marketing Management, Global Marketing Stategies, and E-Commerce are my focus. I am an adult student preparing myself for a career change. I have completed 3/4 of the requirements for graduation.

Each step of the way I find my interests expanding. It is clear that my new knowledge and skills will benefit any area I set my mind to. I am a member of The SARK International Creative Dream Team. I am a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. I enjoy music, gardening and reading. I am enthusiastic about everything that I do and every day is an opportunity to learn. I mentor women in various transitional living communities. This volunteer activity has been extraordinarily rewarding for me.

I believe that one of the most interesting things about me is that I have found myself being a volunteer liaison in every job or volunteer position I have been in throughout my life. Support in life seems to come from so many different areas of interest. People who have similar ideas, talents, professions, families, backgrounds, experiences, challenges and other points of commonality find enrichment in their lives by connecting with one another. Perhaps I am evolving through this kind of work because I find such satisfaction in watching people have those "I am not alone in this" moments. No matter what the challenges in life, there are people who are going through, or have gone through similar things, and connecting them can manifest great sources of growth and insight.

Retired as of August 2007 and relocated from Illinois to Missouri, I spend the majority of my time on my PC using my graphics programs designing for my Zazzle gallery and doing commission portraits

Well now. What to say? I work as supply manager in firm dealing with food products. I have great husband and beautiful baby girl. Hello world. I am Terri 'Zamiska' Harper. The medium of photography has been my main vehicle of expression over the years. I have explored black and white films, papers and special effects in the camera as well as in the darkroom. I have also used various color films and have printed my own color prints using the cibachrome process.
As the old saying goes, if we don't change we fade away. So in the last 10 years, I have become part of the digital age. I now use Photoshop as my "darkroom" or maybe I should say LIGHTROOM! I have also made the switch from film to digital capture. I am presently using a Canon 30D.
