Zelda Games
Zelda games are games that hook you the moment you start playing them. Link has evolved a lot over the last 20 years, and while most know the Zelda games on game systems, the original Zelda game was the hand held version called The Legend of Zelda. The system almost looked like a DS! It only played this one particular game, and measured 3x4 inches in a self-contained unit!
Many versions of Zelda have been created over the years. The next release (pre-order at this writing) coming soon is The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. It promises to be another excellent game.
Basic premise for people who aren't familar: Hero rescues princess, but has to face adventure, challenges, evil things, and more in the process! If you haven't tried any "Zelda games", this is the series to get into!
Nintendo Rocks it All
Nintendo has outdone itself with Zelda games. They offer all aspects that you want in a video game.
Link is a courageous hero who fights for good, and keeps Ganon (bad guy/King of Evil) in check. Princess Zelda is of the Hyrule's Royal Family.
Ganon was actually a person (Ganondorf) at one time, but due to his evil ways, and dark heart, he's been cast to the dark world. (Thanks Link!), and is now Ganon, King of Evil.
My son is a huge Zelda fan, and I had just as much fun watching him play "Twilight Princess" as he had playing it. As a parent, I loved how it made him think. He had to solve puzzles to move to different levels.
Zelda games are games the entire family can agree on, and from a parent's perspective, it's a game I'm happy to buy my son.

Zelda: PHANTOM HOURGLASS REVIEW
The story begins when Link and Tetra are both sailing for unknown seas. They are both looking for a Ghost ship for the treasures that are said to be on it. After Tetra goes to search for the treasure, Link hears a terrible scream. He goes to save Tetra...The problem is he falls off the boat, which lands him stranded on an island in unknown seas!
You must go and do many treacherous puzzles through out the game, all while fighting a variety of enemies and bosses. You'll also venture through new dungeons. In these dungeons, there are special dungeon weapons that will help you with your quest.
This game is based around a giant temple known as the Temple of the Ocean King. It ends up being the first temple AND the last temple that you enter.
The first encounter, you'll meet the captain of the ship named Linebeck. Together Linebeck and Link venture off looking for treasure. They end up going on a crazy journey; one you just can't imagine!
Throughout the many seas and islands, there are hidden puzzles and riddles. They are both charted and uncharted islands. Some are on the map, others are not. You may even run into a boss in the ocean! You must destroy these bosses, or you won't progress to other areas.
After discovering the four ocean areas, collecting the three spirits that look like fairies, getting the three pure metals to forge the phantom sword...you're on your way to the final temple.
In the final temple, you have the phantom hourglass for every minute you got through the temples. You've collected sands, and that amount of time is in the hourglass. You'll have this much time to make it to the bottom of the this final temple. Once there, you'll verse the evil Bellum. Bellum has sucked the energy out of Tetra, turning her into stone.
After a ferocious battle, you realize you can stop time, and Bellum ends up taking on the shape of the Ghost ship. When you destroy the Ghost ship, you will go onto a floating piece of wood, that was once the ship's main deck. You will fight your final battle with Bellum here, after he possesses Linebeck.
I would give this game a 5 out of 5 rating.
