Do you ever forget to ZOOM IN?

Would love to hear your comments!

From the lens Zooming in on the small things....

  • Pastiche Apr 18, 2012 @ 5:22 pm | delete
I LOVE to zoom in, but the camera I have right now isn't great for doing that. When I was shooting with film I had a wonderful long lens with manual focus. I'm hoping to get a GOOD digital SLR with interchangeable lenses this year so I can get back to my beloved close photography. My favorites of all your terrific shots in this lens are the dragon fly and the froggy hugging the child's arm. You've got a great eye!
  • fotolady49 Apr 21, 2012 @ 1:21 am | delete
Hello Pastiche and thanks for stopping by and the cudos too! I don't have the exact lens I want either. Some of the close up pictures on here were taken with my older slr camera before I got the digital, I am in the process of digitizing more of my archived slides. I do the best I can until I can afford the macro/zoom lens..... or even better, a separate zoom and separate macro....I'm dreaming big...LOL!

Awesome. Macro photography is probably my favorite kind of shooting. Always gets you thinking what the world is made up of. The frog on the arm is an awesome shot.

Thank you Kindoak for the visit and your comments! Thanks for the compliment on the frog photo too :)

Literally "a bird's-eye-view" of things. Lovely pictures. Wonder how "a bug's-eye-view" would be!

I was doing a lot of zooming in, each morning, as I was putting on my makeup ... zooming in on the small things can be quite inspiring.

Cool photos. Thanks for sharing. I was never much interesting in photography till I got mobile with camera. Now I know power of zoom is the most important of all features. And if you want to photograph kids, you need speed too:)

Beautiful, relaxing, and simultaneously stimulating. What a peaceful interlude. The two green caterpillars are breathtaking in their beauty, and that limp frog on the child's arm--charming! Thank you so much for another fabulous lens.

I do zoom in now and I would love to have a macro lens for our SLR camera, but don't have one. My point and click has a macro option on it which is not the same... Great lens! Blessed it!

I love your extreme close up photography. It allows a look at the world we sometimes miss when we are only focused on the big picture. After all, don't they say 'God is in the Details'? Lovely. 5*****

These are gorgeous photos. I especially love the praying mantis. My most recent garden companion was a wolf spider who built incredible webs for several months, then disappeared on Christmas Day. I was very sad.

Keep doing what you are doing because your lens shows creativity. Consider getting to 50 lenses to become a squid Giant. I am applying for the March 31st rounds.

Thank you Shelly for visiting and your compliments. It means a lot to me that you think I have a gift for teaching, I've often thought about being a teacher, and I would love to teach photography and art.

Discovered you in Tipi's guest book and zoomed in on you (she's my sister). You would be in photographer's heaven at Kabetogama, where Tipi and I grew up. You do lovely work. It is evident to me that you have a gift for teaching as well as photography!
