Why Learning Black Hat SEO Makes You a Better White Hat

If you are an search engine optimisation then you will know hat blackhat is a definite no no for your business and clients. A lot of the white hat SEO's tend to flee away when they hear that a black hatter is around. As they feel this might jeopardise there reputation, besides this a lot of ethical SEO's steer well clear of blackhat forums, blogs and social sites.

But is this a total mistake? The answer is yes. Although we may not agree with what these people are doing, we can surely learn a lot from them, even if you may not think so, some black hatters are much more savvy and aware then a lot of white hatters. These people have just chosen the wrong path to take.

By actively getting involved in the blackhat world you can 100% better your skills and improve your overall performance. A few examples of this comes in the form something I like to call "evaluate and flee", basically without getting into the blackhat world you will never be able to keep up to date with the web savvy world, no matter how many white hat SEO blogs you may read.

For instance lets just say that this very clever black hat tool was released which could scan the entire web in a few hours and pin point a location to drop there links. But let's consider that this is a great link building sector for yourself that you have naturally and ethically been using, and then suddenly this starts linking to various bad neighbourhoods. In a snap Google and the other major search engines will have pin pointed what is going on, and tweak there algo's to either discount these links or raise a red flag for whoever is linking to that specific area.

By constantly keeping your eye on the blackhat world you will be able to test these tools for yourself and be well ahead of everyone, being able to move far away from what you were previously doing.

So to summarise we should constantly be looking for ways to improve ourselves as SEO's and if this means putting on our blackhats for a day then so be it. A more straightforward explanation of this could be turned to the catering sector. If you are living in a certain area, you will know the restaurant which has been shut down for food poisoning and steer clear, but if you're a tourist coming in to visit then you will probably end up eating there and making yourself sick.
