A Rocking Horse of a Different Design!

One day while surfing the net, I discovered a wonderful toy site from England: Bouncy Happy People. I do not know why, but the Europeans always seem to have some of the most beautifully designed toys. Think Brio. Think Wood.

Think out-of-the-box.

On Bouncy's website, I stumbled on the most beautiful child's rocking "horse" I have ever seen -- The Sibi Olga Child's Rocking Horse. (Rockinghorse or rocking horse? Does it matter?)

How this Rocker came to be:

The Sirch family has been producing products in wood for over 300 years in Germany.

During the last part of the 20th century, the SIRCH Company specialized in industrial shipping pallets; they continue to manufacture them today. After the death of his father Isidor Sirch, Wolfgang Sirch, an interior architect, became president. For a new synergy, he brought Christoph Bitzer, a sculptor, into the company.

The new Sirch-Bitzer team began designing and producing very special items for children under the brand name "Sibi". All Sibi products are handmade in the Sirch factory in Bavaria, primarily in wood.

(info from the manufacturer's website)

I have also found other toys by this same manufacturer and they are listed at the bottom of this page. So keep scrolling !

Yes! Bring back the springs!

HorseAndPony says:

It's not so much the springs. If you are a horse lover it's more like bring back the horse. It is more than just riding something that moves. It is about having an adventure with your first horse.

ElizabethJeanAllen says:

I have to confess, I like the old ones.

No! I love the form of the new horse!

KFreeman says:

This is a beautiful rocking horse. It catches your attention immediately.

Pukeko says:

Normally I prefer traditional anything, but in this case, the safety of no springs is worth it!

Laniann says:

It's a beautiful work of art.

DUMC says:

Not too moderne, just too expensive for the middle class family.
