A Child's Fairy Tale!

A Child's Fairy Tale is in my mind because it is an intimate Childhood Experience! I am still wondering how a child could determine what it wants at the age of 4 or 5! It was not normal at that age and at that time; any Sudanese father accepts what his child determines especially in deciding the kind of education he prefers.

The decision I made and in fact, that was the first decision in my life, was big. However, my father accepted it smiling and he chatted about it with his friends (and normally his friends were the high staffs in the town. They had been down to the earth and they knew all the people.). They all appreciated my cleverness at that age, except one member of what was called the Islamic party.

I had no ideas that time about that party, somebody called Hassan At-turabi founded with some of his friends early in the forties to follow the Egyptian Muslim Brothers' agendas.

In a Childs Memory: That Sheikh Will Go to Fire!

We did not have kindergartens and preschools that time in my town. I attended a Quran room in one mosque with other children to read holly Quran. I completed two primary books of verses and learned how to read and write. I could possibly weep while reading Quran and I obsessed by the complete mercy in the verses.

However, the Sheikh; and that was the teacher of Quran on that room called Khalwa was not. He treated us badly. He used to slap us on the bottom of our feet until we cry of pain.

I imagined that time while I or other children crying, I imagined that the God came with his long beard from the sky and took him from his ear all the way to the sky saying to him, this is not the way to teach children Quran. You have no mercy, so you should go to fire.

A Child's Fairy Tale is NOT about Quran! It is about those who misuse Quran and exploit it to enforce political and economical dominations over the poor innocent traditional Muslims! It is also a personal diary to write about the insanity in that world.

What Will You Read in the Childs Fairy Tales?

The dialogue between the Pen and the Gun!

This is logical, as we absolutely need the PEN instead of the GUN to make the world better.

I indulged in the inspiration of this article when John Kennedy was shot dead in 1964. I hated the gun that day. The scene opened my mind to write better. In my memory, the incident seems as a fairy tale.

On That same date, my language teacher encouraged me and nurtured me while he was reading some stories from the international literature by Oscar Wild, Charles Dickens and others. When there should be oral tales, I should be the first pupil to speak in front of the class.

At the age of nine, I was a fluent speaker in the school. I made imaginary tales about different things that aimed towards supporting poor people.

Why Secularism is a solution?

This is the second topic in the Child's Fairy Tales. It is about that some Muslims think secularism is illegal in what they believe and it is forbidden. However, I do not think so, simply because being a secular is better than being a fundamentalist. Secularity keeps people rational when they come to religions. There should be respect to all beliefs of course even when people come to discuss the differences between these beliefs.

Well, I have not arrived at the Child's Fairy Tales yet.
