A Christmas Story - The Movie

In the movie, A Christmas Story, one of our favorite Christmas Traditions, Ralphie wants a bb Gun . A Christmas Story, is watched to celebrate Christmas on TV throughout the Holiday season. We are reminded again that the only Christmas gift Ralphie wants is for Santa Claus to bring him a Red Ryder BB gun.

Based on stories by author Jean Shepherd, the film is written by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown and Bob Clark and is about Ralphie and his family living in a midwestern town. Throughout Ralphie's daily activities, involving his younger brother, Randy, and his friends, including dealing with the school bully, he is hoping for the Red Ryder for Christmas. In one of my favorite scenes, Ralphie and his little brother, Randy, go to a department store to visit Santa Claus.

Scenes with Ralphie's family and his experiences with his playground friends are memorable and his actually finally owning the Red Ryder bb gun and his experiences with it add to the interest of the movie. When his dad wins the leg lamp as a prize and displays it in the front window, it appears to not be appreciated by his mom. The A Christmas Story House has been restored and is open to the public year-round.
