Dracula, The Mummy, Frankenstein.... These Bring Back Fond Memories From My Childhood And Of My Mother

I began creating this this lens to complete a quest assignment given me by Squidoo, but how the memories are flooding back. I lost my mother one year ago to cancer and when I read the quest.... create a retro lens about something that brings back memories of your childhood... well, they just came flooding back as this is already a time of reflection for me. One of my greatest memories of my childhood and my mother are all the Saturday afternoons we spent together just chillin' on the couch watching old scary movies and eating junk food. It was "our time" together, just me and her. You see, my mother was a creepy movie junkie. She loved any movie with a "creature" or "monster" of some sort. Every Saturday from Noon until 4 p.m. one of our television stations played these old monster movies. We watched the old black and white movies and as time went on and we aquired a VCR and began to watch creepy movies that were newer at the time, but have become the classics of today. So, it may seem odd, but these old scary movies hold some very important memories to me and I have seen them all many many times. Here I am going to share some of my mothers favorite movies from the old Universal Studios Classic Monster Films.
