BEEsiting The Bohol Bee Farm

Ranked #13,213 in Travel & Places, #321,286 overall

This is is my first lense, and I my purpose is to share my unforgetable moments in this wonderful place.

Bohol is a well known tourist destination In the Philippines both local and international tourists. There are many interesting places to see in this beautiful Island such a Blood Compact, Baclayon Church and Museum , Bilar Manmade Forest, ChocolateHills, Loboc River ( where the famous foating restaurant cruise) and Tarsier Sanctuary and many more. But the one that attracted my interest most is the Bohol Bee Farm in Dao, Dauis, Panglao Island.
As you hear the word farm, mostly we will think of a vast land cultivated for the purpose of agricultural production., raising and breeding of domestic animals or an area of water devoted to the raising, breeding, or production of a specific aquatic animal/plant. And the name itself would give us a the idea that the place is a farm producing bees for honey's. Yes it has apiary but the Bohol Bee Farm is not all about bees. They promote organic gardening of herbs and edible flowers. They sell a line of food products which are 100 % natural, no preservatives and healthy such as home baked bread, squash muffins, pure honey, honey spread and bee pollen and more . I was curious about their salad ( which unfortunately i have not tried during my visit) such as Organic Garden Salad (Fresh picked assorted romaine lettuce, radish, turnips, mustard greens and indigenous flowers served with honeyed mustard salad dressing) and Spicy Flower Salad (Made with very thin slivers of chicken, assorted ground nuts with flower petal topped with stir fried onion. Dressing: Mixture of chilis, ginger, calamansi juice, fish sauce and honey to be poured over before serving.) What i love most, is their malunggay Ice cream with real malunggay (Moringa is the English name) a plant well known for it's nutritional content and medicinal properties. The Malunggay ice cream is served in a special cone called cabcab. Cabcab is made out of cassava (kamoteng-kahoy in tagalog). Cabcab also compliments other toppings like pesto, coconut jam , fish flakes and perhaps you can try your own choice of toppings. I love the taste of cabcab that i bought a bag of it to bring home.
.
Bohol Bee farm have a variety of ameneties like accomodation rooms, function rooms, Sun bathing and Loundging Area where you can enjoy the panoramic sea view from the spacious wooded platform, Marine Cruise, several restaurants/resto, a Spa where you can experience a traditonal massage,( in our native language is hilot), swimming pools , Bohol Bee Dive Center and Souvenir shops where you can buy handcrafted products like bags, mats, and jewelries. Of course not to miss the Bakeshop where you can buy the organic breads and your choice of honey, native wine called Bahalina, teas and icecream.

Life in the city has become stressful even with modern technologies claimed to make life easier . But the real and most important thing we really want is not just comfort but a healthy body and mind. Everyone of us deserves a break from this toxic environment and the Bohol Bee farm is an ideal place to have a break. It is not just a place to stay and relax, it promotes healthy living and biodiversity.

Make your holiday a truly memorable one by visiting Bohol Bee Farm . I promised myself , I will be back to this lovely place.

Other Beautiful places in Bohol

Baclayon ChurchBohol is a lovely peaceful Island . It's people embraced the simplicity of life. There are other interesting places in Bohol. Of course, the tarsier sanctuary and Chocolate Hills is the highlight of the tour but i suggest that the churches shouldn't be missed because it is richness of historical events and story that are relevant to the Philippines culture. The Hinagdanan caves, man made forest and Panglao Island where you can find many world class resorts and hotels to stay during your vacation.
